Too much carbon ... my plan is to:

Black out the swingarm
Get carbon/carbon effect lower cowl/bellypan
Get carbon/carbon effect hugger & chain guard
Respray in a shade of blue (but not the Honda one Entropy @Entropy has)

A carbon look swingarm would be too much next to the hugger - it's one or the other for me.

I also have some other carbon effect parts to fit into the mix, right baugustine @baugustine ? :)

Ironically, the black swingarm might even be cheaper than the wrap job :)

That look is not for me. I much prefer the black (which is also black inside where I can still see it) and it also matches the frame. My black Ebay swingarm was in perfect condition for $110 shipped and cost little extra to have installed since they were in there anyway.

And we're done! Unexpectedly easy job. But I've got no parts left over (except a silver swing arm) so I must be OK :)

So without further messing about...

1st Step, get it on the Abba stand using the adaptors (note the swing arm pivot is free to be worked on):

Remove mudguard:

Remove rear wheel (rear caliper is suspended on some rope):

Support swing arm before removing shock bolt to prevent exhaust damage!:

Undo swing arm pivot nut (27mm socket) - handy tool on the left side to prevent bolt from spinning (22mm socket):

Swing arm drops out easily - tip: rotate left side down/right side up so it can clear the rear brake master cylinder assembly!

New swing arm and pivot bolt in and doing up shock bolt (t-shirt protecting exhaust form scratches).
Note the bolt needs a 8mm hex driver and a long bar to reach in (I used a T-bar to prevent it spinning)

Replace wheel & torque up. Mudguard to go on last after cleaning.

Done!
