Seriously considering CB650F as my second bike, and I need an advice

Hello, my fellow riders!

After some time researching, I’ve come across a very interesting model, and I’m seriously considering it as my second bike purchase.

I started riding about a year and a half ago, and my first bike is an FZS 600 (’99). It’s been a great experience, but unfortunately, I had an accident. It wasn’t too serious—I damaged the bike but managed to fix it and finish the season. However, that incident made me realize it’s time to upgrade to something newer and better before the next season. I like my Fazer, but it’s old, and I don’t trust it anymore. I've had a lot of mechanical issues with it. It helped me get into the world of motorcycling and learn to ride, but now it’s time to move on.

I still consider myself a beginner, and I know the FZS 600 isn’t exactly a beginner’s bike. I probably jumped ahead of the recommended level, but I understand I still have a lot to learn. That’s why I’ve decided my next bike should stay within the same power range. I’m not in a rush to get something more powerful. I want to take my time, ride for at least two more seasons, and then decide if I’m ready for more horsepower and cc.

The CB650F is the bike I like the most from everything I’ve seen, and it’s within my price range. The only doubt I have is that it might not be as fun to ride after the FZS 600 because of the difference in horsepower. I’m worried it’ll feel like an MT-07, which I don’t like at all. Unfortunately, I don’t have the chance to test ride before buying, so I’m relying on online information.

A friend of mine suggests I also consider the CB600 Hornet (2011-2013), which I’m sure would be a great choice since it has similar horsepower to my Fazer. But I really like the look of the CB650F.

What do you think?

From a brief read, the CB650F is 86HP and the fazer 95HP? They are both 4 Cylinders so I would think would feel very similar? For me the downside of the MT07 (74HP) and similar is the twin engine, so i can't see how you would be disappointed by the CB650F to be honest. The Bandit is a bit more powerful at 102HP, so if you are looking for a little more power that seems the way to go in my mind.
Whatever you decide mate, best of luck and Ride Safe!

Yes, that's what I want to confirm, that they are similar, and that it wouldn't be boring to me, because I tried mt07 and it is very boring comparing to the fazer. 2nd option would be hornet cb600 2011-2013, no bandit.

I've ridden the hornet and have the 650f and the 650f seems to have more in the mid range but just doesn't rev as high as the hornet thus not producing as much peak power.
