Magical moment is here, instead of disassembling things.. it's time to put it all back together!

Swing bolted to the main frame with the suspension links. Steering fork has to wait some paint to dry and then it can also be installed.

You could assemble it, see how it looks, and if you don't like it, just disassemble it, put the lacquer and assemble it again... 😵‍💫
😄
Don't worry too much, I think it will look good either way 😉

I just cleaned it once more and threw some lacquer on it, all good now.. If it sucks (most likely cause I am not a painter) I'll deal with it later.😅

Right. Engine is now done. Valve clearances are done, cleaning done (as good as Im gonna get it now), etc etc... Just need to put oil in it. Also rear steel-frame sand blasted and base coated..

Also couple other frame bits almost done:

Just for a contrast.. here's the frame with the OLD rear suspension:

That's not OLD... that's...that's...that's... a dead suspension!!! And it's dead for a few centuries for sure! 😵

Surprisingly, it still works somewhat.. And it has not spit all the oil out. Don't judge the ugly outside man! 😅 (Don't worry, got a YSS shock coming soon..)

Little update on the project, RR TODO list. A lot of it still require assembling but I've eighter replaced the parts, serviced them or refurbished them:

Front / rear brakes - serviced, will continue with them in the winter. (needs paint).
Brake lines - replaced, with HEL ones.
Rear brake fluid reservoir - replaced with OEM one. Still needs a fluid hose to the cylinder.
Front fork bearings - replaced.
Rear "fork" bearings - replaced.

Rear suspension link - fabricated a new one with CAD/PCBw, bearings replaced.
Rear steel frame - sand blasted and painting started.
Front pipe frames - sand blasted and painting started or done.
Front suspension - waiting for service, have the parts already.
Rear suspension - replacement part ordered.

Exhaust - manifold cleaned and painted, muffler replaced with after market one.
Fuel tank, rust - rust mostly cleaned off and protected with paint (full paintwork later, winter?).
Sprockets - Someone replaced them before, no action required.
Chain - replaced with RK428 XSO.
The frame - cleaned, hydro blasted, cleaned, lightly sanded and painted with lacquer.

Cooling - New radiator done, still waiting for replacement cooling hoses (looking for possibilities for replacement thermostat).
Left / right handlebars - serviced, cleaned, painted. Replaced OEM grips with CB650R ones.
Front fork - components cleaned and painted.
Engine - Cleaned. Oil filter and some gaskets replaced. Valve clearances checked and adjusted. New spark plugs. New oil when assembling.
Front / rear wheels - waiting for cleaning and new bearings. Also needs new tires and rims needs to be painted. (winter?)

Fairings - Aftermarket fairing kit ordered
Various plastic parts - mostly washed, cleaned, painted or checked.
Various metal parts (clips, wire supports etc) - mostly washed and cleaned or painted.
Electrical - checked and cleaned. OEM Indicators replaced with clear ones (two of the OEM indicator housings were broken).

There might be some other little stuff still yet to do but, nothing major.

That's for the radiator, right?
Trying to find the pieces of your puzzle 😅
Indeed, radiator / cooling pipes. Some of them has little cracks on them on the ends so, obviously needs replacing. Also one new "rubber bumper" for the "rear wheel dampener" to replace the one that is broken. (should replace them all but, shop only had one in stock.. and they're back order from Japan so..

Going to install the cooling pipes today and, if nothing goes wrong engine is going back on to the frame.. and so is other parts as well.

Day of the re-assembly has come!

Did the compression test for the cylinders, 12kg/cm2 all around (manual gives 13kg/cm2) so, the engine is in good shape.

A lot of re-assembling happened today. It's fast and easy when you've prepped the parts for 8 weeks......

Looking great but... that rear shock... 😬
No YSS yet?
Yeah there was/is some discount going on YSS shocks atm. and seems there was stock issues at the supplier..
I should get the shock in.. 2-3 weeks or so.

I'll keep the OEM there for now, it still works and I can do test driving with it as the time comes and replace the shock later.

Oooh... 🧐 Do I detect some anxiety to get the baby rolling?

After all that work, I can perfectly understand 😁

What tires do you going to use? This one's look really squared off.

Yeah these are like 6y old tires and pretty banged up. Gonna go with Pirelli Angel CiTy most likely. Or maybe Michelin Road 6.. Not 100% sure yet.
