Hi everyone just wanted to ask which is the best fuel to use? I recently bought a cb650r and was wondering which fuel provides the best performance eh E10 or 91 - 95 or 98 ?
Thanks

I recommend you to use the cheapest possible as performance wise it will not make any noticeable performance difference. You might think I'm joking, but I'm serious.
I would avoid the 10% ethanol as will help moisture to be present in your tank and the rest you can imagine.
I use cheap 95 RON 5E for 2 and a half years and 28KKm and bike always performed fine.

I use e10. I’ve never tried the basic 91, but I did use 95 and 98 for a few months. I should note that my bike has been derestricted at the air-inlets and the ECU, so maybe things are different on the stock models, but I can’t tell the difference between the fuels in performance. However, my dash says I’m getting more kilometres per litre on e10 (15km vs 13), so I go with that since it’s so much cheaper and presumably taking me further.

These engines don't have high compression ratio, so, it's not expected to feal nor make any difference. Even mileage I doubt that is real. There must be another cause rather than using 98. There's no technical reason for that to be happening.

I very it a bit depending on the time of year now, through the summer I use e10 as it's less likely that the bike will sit for a long period. Then in Winter when it is conceivable the bike could sit for several weeks without being taken out, i use e5 dues to the Ethanols tendency to absorb water. I can't say I've ever noticed a significant difference in Fuel economy, or performance.

the minimum is 90 RON so 87 MON E10 is also possible wouldnt store it too long

I use 95 or 98 premium.
Doing the same roads every day, I have no doubt the 98 is more efficient as I always get more Kms between refuels. Around 10 to 15 Kms.
The average consumption indicated on the bike is also lower with the 98. At least 0.2l/100km difference (usually 5.0l/100km with 95 and 4.8l/100Km with 98).
Doing the maths, it matches the extra Kms I get.

Now the other question is... Is it cheaper to run on 95 or 98?
That's more complicated... because it depends on the current prices and the fact that I have an higher discount on the 98... in my case, in the end, it's about the same and since the 98 is better for the health of the engine, it's the one I use most of the time now.

We get 95E10 and 98E5 in Finland. I've been sticking to 98E5 since I bought the bike.
Consumption with "my kind" of driving has been approx. around 4L/100 for the last 17k km.

"my kind" of driving is mostly normal-ish commute, but I do use the full rev range and go for spirited driving from time to time.

Hmm! I doubt these conclusions! With a low compression ratio engine like this, 95/98 RON should make no difference. It makes no difference. 95 can hadle well auto ignition with this compression ratio.
Maybe the difference can come from the percentage of ethanol in both. But even like so! Hmmm!
As I shared last year here, the only time I used 98E10 on my CB, I got an engine check light  Should I take any conclusion from that? Obviously not. 😅

I understand it might not be easy to have a clear conclusion when you drive in many different roads. Tyre pressures, ambient temperature, different speeds... so many factors that make an impact on your fuel consumption.
But my experience is doing the same roads (commuting) for more than 4000Kms, in a mix of town, highway and national road. From summer to winter.
Also, I check tyre pressure often. I can feel a change in the tyres pressure of just 0.2bar, but like to check it to be sure. So it doesn't make much impact on consumption difference.
On Winter/rain the fuel consumption is lower, since I drive slower, but even then the 98 is more efficient.
I'm sure if you make the same roads many times, like me, you'll notice the difference.

I also noticed slightly increased consumption on E10 95 since it was introduced over E5 95 i used before. Around 0.2 L/100 km
