Hello when i went to change my filter and oil i noticed oil seems to linger in that same area.( I think its oil pump assy ) not to sure. Its not the sort of leak what drips, but I cant accept it! I haft to have things perfect..
Ive dried it and it always comes back in that same place. I think my oil filter seal is ok and seems dry. But i just cant see where its from. Please help.

Going by the crappy rust colour of your chain :p, looks like splashing chain oil running down a hot engine. Up there it would need to be a serious problem for it to be engine oil.

That area gets caked on mine, I need to clean things before I can see to work. Especially where you circled (which is the coolant drain BTW, nothing to do with oil).

You need to get over these things - bike engines get dirty. Yours is way cleaner than mine.

Your photos are a bit too close - they lack context; but the silver bolt head in the 1st I think is the oil drain - and that's clean! Seems to be missing a crush washer though, but that could just be the angle of picture.

Chill out, looks OK. Unless you notice oil level changes when you check them? It'd be obvious.

Cheers for the reply. Yes my bike is due a clean and that's a new chain it gets rusty so easy, the chain is qwite dry as its due a lube .

And i know i do need to try and chill i just hate when things arent up to my standard it really bugs me. Its deffianlty engine oil seeping out of somewhere, as ive dried all of that area on the picture's. then after a quick run on a dry road the oil will always come back in the same spot. The sump plug has a new washer. I did notice my oil level dropped bellow the dip stick before.

Yes im going get intouch. I mean to some people this would not matter But at the end ot the day it should not seep any oil what so ever. I think its the seal between that silver peice. Maybe the screw what goes into the silver bit whats closest to the oil has come slighly loose

More likely a leak on the drive shaft of the water pump or the seal has gone on the gearbox casing somewhere.

Honda will find it. Just keep an eye on the dipstick in the mean time.

Its more frustrating with it being that tiny😂 becauce honda will probably just think im being petty and won't take it serious. But ive found little things like this, only get worse over time, when ive worked on bikes in the past.
If a seal has gone i think you could be right about it being water pump related,as that silver peice where it seeps out of looks to be connected to the main coolant hoses.

Yes mate well cheers for your help. I cant see it being very serious, but its better to find a small seep now and sorting it out rather than it pouring out miles away from home.

Maybe im just seeing this! As it is in a similar area.but it does look like oil, over coolant but i will be happy if it is just this .

After allot of research it's more than likely the mechanical water pump seal. I will get intouch with honda tomorrow.

One thing to ask honda check water pump is torque right, oil pan bolts which there are 10 of them are torqued right. Maybe oil pan gasket seal is torn?? I'm just guessing.

Just taste it, spit it out, and rinse your mouth out like crazy.

If it's super sweet or harsh bloody bitter you know it's coolant.

Some Coolant in Canada has bitter agent so humans and pets don't drink it.
In America, I THINK some doesn't have the bitter agent so it's super sweet.
Europe I don't know.

Raw coolant is super sweet.

Don't forget to rinse your mouth out with tons of water or mouth wash.

If i could see the bleed hole that would be helpfull but i cant.

I put some tissue closest to where the pump connects to the engine beacuce i thought it was that oil seal, but after checking again the moisture looks more blue in the middle, and it still collects in that same place with the tissue blocking, where i thought it was coming from. Maybe it is just coolant moisture collecting from the bleed hole , its just strange how it does looks goldy like oil but with blue looking coolant in the middle of it

Just a thought. You can buy UV oil detection liquid or kit from an auto parts store. You add it to the oil.
