Morning guys and gals!I made an account here a while back when I bought my bike, but I figured I'd finally introduce myself. I've been riding since 2012 and my first bike was actually a 2001 Rebel CMX250. After selling my last bike about 5 years ago I have been itching to get something else. I'd always wanted to try a sporty bike, and the middleweight inline 4 bikes I lusted over as a kid are all but gone. I wanted something new(I've always abought cheap broken bikes and fixed them up) and figured that, living at the base of a mountain, now was a great time for a more athletic bike. The CB650R fit the bill! I've had the bike about 2.5 months and I'm just about to cross over 3000 miles.
If I could've had my way, I would have gotten a non e-clutch version and installed a quick shifter as I find the e-clutch quite intrusive when shifting manually. It almost always slips the clutch for 1-2s causing the motor to rev and make me look like an idiot after I release the clutch lever. The only way for me to keep it from slipping the clutch is to be completely off the throttle for 1-2s after I shift, which is ridiculous, so I just turn it off every time. The tires are also not super confidence inspiring, but I'll wait for them to wear before I worry about it!
Anyways, so far here's what I've done:
- PPF'd the tank, headlight, front fender, and rear seat trim
- Evotech frame sliders
- Evotech rad guard
- EBC HH pads (stock pads get mushy fast on canyon descents)
- OEM heated grips(what a job, but worth it)
- CS Racing Exhaust
