Hey guys, i'm looking to pick up either a CBR650R, or a CBR650F. I cant find any information on the handlebar width (from bar end to bar end). I have to fit the bike through a gate to get it into my garden, my other bike it was a squeeze because of the straight bars. If you could measure the stock handlebars for me and let me know that would be a huge help thanks guys.

Thanks a lot for the reply Brammers this helps a lot. Do you know if the CBR650R has slightly less width from bar end to bar end? This is going to be a squeeze lol.

Tagging in Brian C. @Brian C. And M @Motojack as active 650r owners - hopefully they can help!

Mine is 73cm Bar end to bar end, My Mirrors are always folded in when stored so can't help there until i pull her out. Sounds like we are in a similar situation J @Jman1029, my bike is stored in my porch, so i have to get it through my gate and my Front Door!
Let me know if you need any other measurements, now i have found my tape measure! ;-)

To be fair, my 74cm across the bars ends was not the most scientific measurement (due to access to the bike) - it could easily be 73 as well. I'd be surprised if the 650f and 650r were much different in overall dimensions.

(some time passes on Google)...

75.3cm for the F
74.9cm for the R

This is great news then. i can work with around 73cm. thanks for your time, jack, brian, and brammers, once i get the handlebars of any bike through my gate the rest is usually pretty easy. Really glad about this.

Just picked up a CBR650F in black 2016 from a really nice guy whos looked after it extremely well. Sadly does not fit in the gate because of the angle the gate is at and the length of the bike. But not to worry, going to knock down the wall in the front garden to make room for it 🤣. I am absolutely stunned by the build quality of the 650F, the seating position on it is also much more comfy than i imagined and despite it weighing more than other bikes in the class it feels so light. Over the moon right now.

Heres a photo miweber929 @miweber929 it looks great. Nothing major done it it and in great condition, whoever had it before looked after it. Luckily no walls had to be knocked down Brian C. @Brian C. some modifications to the gate just barely makes me able to get it in and out of the garden. I'm talking less than 0.5cm room either side lol. Brammers @Brammers thanks for reminding me about the profile being wrong i was planning on getting the R but fell in love with this one when i saw it, ive updated it now. Again thanks all for your help

It's pretty much had every modification done which i wanted. Rear seat cowl, different levers that's about it. Still has the stock exhaust on it which ill be changing down the line but no other plans for it, perfect bike.

You may want to look into these or similar, my Neighbour reversed into me and knocked me over a few weeks ago (Low Speed, no real harm done, other than annoying me) and other than a snapped Hero Blob and a scuff on the Puck of the covers, no harm done, without the covers i would have had a scratched or possibly broken engine casing.

Thanks for hooking me up. I was looking into some fall protection for the bike, this will work nicely
