Luggage Just installed - Shad Top case rack + 3P

What's up all! I thought I'd share some pics of my newly-installed top case, rack, and 3P holder on the CB650R. TL;DR: It all fits well, but I had to order the parts from overseas and if you have a fender eliminator, the turn signals are so snug as to be pushed down slightly. You can see in the third image that the signals are slightly pushed downwards, but no effect on operation.

Everything went together fine, with exception of the clearance of signals due to the fender eliminator. I had to use an extra spacer to get it to fit even that tight. I'm happy with the final result...yes it does mess with the lines of this beautiful bike. However for those commuting on the CB650R, that top case will be a huge benefit as you can now store your helmet and other gear in a secure and dry manner.

I bought the parts at following locations:

1) 3P rack: https://bikeluggage.co.uk/products/honda-cb650r-shad-3p-pannier-fitting-kit-h0cb69if
- good vendor, prompt shipment!

2) Shad top rack for CB650R: Amazon product
- I bought this from amazon.co.uk (note: UK amazon, shipping to USA)
- USPS lost my shipment so I recommend using the DHL/upgraded shipping (second attempt was here within a week).

3) Shad SH48 / 48L top case: I bought new on eBay for $175. Here is a unit on Amazon: Amazon product

I have some SH23 side panniers on the way as well.
I have a spare 3P kit identical to one pictured here if anyone is looking for a pair! It's part in point 1 above. DM if interested. Here's the marketplace thread: https://650f.bike/threads/shad-3p-pannier-fitting-kit-for-2019-cb650r.2275/

There was a discussion here about SH23s not fitting the 650r. They fit on the F, but the shape of the tail on thr R prevents it. Have you checked if they fit?

I read about that. I can return them if they don’t work out. Thanks for the heads up...

ShutterBugOnWheels @ShutterBugOnWheels : The SH23 does NOT fit to CB650R. The case rubs into the chassis in the highlighted area (see pics). No amount of wrangling gets it to fit. Hopefully this info/pics helps someone else out down the line.

Well, this certainly shads some light on the issue. How much plastic is there on that point? Could it be filed down on the case to clear, I wonder? If that's the only place there is a collision, maybe it can clear with that small mod without putting a hole in it.

Given the relatively thin plastic on the SH23, I think you'd have to file through it to clear. Frustrating because otherwise its a nice fit and perfect size pannier.

Also, full credit to you for placing an awesome dad joke. You shad me in stitches.

I didn't fit the panniers, just the rack and top box and they are fine. I have a Givi Tanklock bag so for me, thats enough storage. I fitted the Gel Pad to give the missus more leg room which seems to work so will be getting the pillion perch modified with that gel to make it a proper fix.
Still loving this bike !!

Beautiful bike man. We are twins except for brand of box. I’m finding the top box alone is quite spacious. I will long for more space if I do any overnight trips however (rare).

Hello, what size Shad topcase is that? I can't make it out in the pic. Also, did you consider using the Shad optional brake light kit? Looks like most of these rear racks obscure the OEM brake light. Thanks!
