After a 4 month wait, I finally picked up my new 650R last week. 16+ years since I have been on a bike (1998 CB500, first and only) - so super nervous picking her up, but all went well. The choice of colour (Pearl Smokey Grey) was a gamble as there were none in the country to view in person, but turns out it was a great choice 👍.

My skills are very rusty but looking forward to the weeks and months ahead getting used to the bike …

Hi Mick, nice bike. I'm hoping to upgrade from a CB650F to the R next year. I'm in Ireland too (North West) and just wondering which dealer you used and would you recommend them? Assuming the bike was rrp due to shortages. Well wear as they say here!

Welcome, very nice colour scheme, like you I got back on 2 wheels (2017 cb650F) last week after a long break (20 + years), I was super nervous and very rusty too. Have since spent evenings down the local trading estate getting the feel back.
How are you getting on with throttle response? mine felt like an on off switch at first

I'd advise you take a look at your throttle freeplay. I have mine set to the minimum (around 3mm ISTR) and it makes a big improvement. I too felt like it was all or nothing when I first got the bike but a small adjustment can make a big difference.

Thanks, I saw that in one of the forums on here a yesterday, I checked the freeplay and adjusted it to about 3-4mm, not done any riding since. I'll let you know if it improves.

Naldo (sorry for late response)

I got the bike in M50 Honda - very accommodating and helpful. Yes, the price was RRP. I know they got a delivery of 30+ bikes and only had 2 left. But, if I wanted one for next March, I would order it this year just to be sure …

Ordered mine in Feb (not honda m50) was In by may, that was with the Suez debacle this year. I beleive all the dealers in the country order from the same stock allotment for ireland.

So the earlier you put your name down the better!
