There is very little info on the quickshifter in the US. Not from American Honda and the dealer knows less than I do because they have not encountered it until me. I am going to trouble shoot the wiring per instructions that came with the quickshifter. I also got a DLC jumper to troubleshoot the ECM (ECU). I hope to get to it over the weekend but getting a lot colder in South Jersey this week and no heat in garage.

Got mine this week(Took about 4-5 weeks to get in stock). works but not the smoothest i must say, i keep using the clutch below 5000rpm as it is much smoother that way but when you're throttle out and change gears towards the end of the rev range it performs much better.quick shifter.JPG

Out of curiosity how long have you been waiting. My sports pack is also on back order
Just curious, l bought my CB650R in Dec 2019 and was told the quickshifter would be fitted when l collect it, you guess it wasn t fitted. They told me they were out of stock and would fit it at the first service, l did some research and see theres a problem with the supply of quick shifters. Its almost July and after chasing Honda UK and the dealer l've still not had it fitted ! Looking like l'll be wanting a refund for a part not fitted if this goes on much longer, really poor service from someone like Honda. Can anyone help or tell me more than l know? Thanks .. Mike

I was looking to order one myself this week.....not sure I will just yet then! I'll see what my dealer says about it and if they happen to have one if I'm immensely lucky! haha

Best we’ve been able to figure are a few things happened:

1. Supply far outpaced demand.
2. There were issues with the first ones released, so an updated one needed to be done. Whether a design flaw or supplier mishap is unclear but Honda didn’t release them again until they worked.
3.They are now available in certain areas.

Hate to say it but its a gamble on a new model/new design. Seems like they are shipping again now so that should help, lots are saying they got their recently.

Many thanks for the replies, l heard it was a quality issue, first the QS's were made in Italy but following issues the dealer told me manufacture was moved to Spain?
Seems theres lots of stories going around as to why they are still to be fitted to customers bikes, as l say l bought my bike in Dec 2019, chased Honda UK, chased the dealer and still have yet to have it fitted.
Some guys who have them fitted say how good they are while others aren t too happy with them so maybe there was a quality issue with them prompting Honda to move manufacture?
If l get an updates QS then l'm happy to wait a little longer rather than have paid over £300 for the option and it work c**p, but saying that l'm getting close to the point of contacting my dealer to ask for a refund for a part l've not received after an unacceptably long wait :-(

Just fitted the QS bought straight from Honda US, bought it last week and delivered in 2 days.
Unfortunately it's not working, the signal gets to the ECU but it won't shift.
Got in touch with the dealer that shipped it out and told me to get the bike to my dealer to have the ECU connected to the MCS for a diagnostic check.
I really hope it's just matter of enable it.
He said to have successfully fitted it on both ABS and non ABS models.
Also got in touch straight with Honda to see what they say.
The dealer is booked for more than a month, I hope to find another one available sooner.

I ordered mine as part of the sports pack in September 2019 and finally got a phone call from my dealer on Friday to let me know it has been delivered. Getting it fitted later this week, only a 9 month wait 🤬
At least Honda UK paid for my 600 mile service as a gesture of good will. They will be getting another email once it is fitted !
Dealer has been great, keeping me informed as much as they could. But I think they were being told nothing by Honda UK either.

i ordered mine in november, installed 1 month ago, works at 100%, restricted model, i can't blame honda for the delay really, the QS is made by other company, not hondas fault they had problems, now depends of the dealer, some are cool, some just dont care, here yamaha service is more than horrible, and that counts, i just excluded mt-07 from my list

Another one here, waiting for the quickshifter since February 2019. Unlike others, dealer hasn't kept me informed at all, which made me pretty angry.
I asked several times during these months but they were just igonring mails or making weird excuses instead of giving me information (or at least tell me they had no idea at all, but at least answer...).

Let's see how much patience I have left, before asking for a refund and start looking for other aftermarket options, my only concern about this option is losing the guarantee.

When is enough enough, what can one do when the QS paid for and 8 months later still waiting? As l say like many my patience is running thin, maybe a trip to the dealer soon to have words and enquire about a refund. Another month or so and thats me done with it Covid 19 or no Covid 19 this issue has been going on since the middle of 2019 !

I definitely feel your frustration, having paid for something to not have it is a pain in the butt.
If you have a chance to stop at the dealer to have a chat, go ahead since it's way better to talk with someone than over the phone or emails.
Most likely they'll take in consideration a refund since you have been waiting for way too long.
I found a dealer that is going to run diag check on my ECU Friday the 10th, I really hope is just matter of re initialize it or enable it.
Keep you posted and good luck.
Take a deep breath before going there 😅

Fingers crossed you get yours working and its not one of these rogue QS 's that has caused this ongoing issue. Regards calling in person on my dealer? yes all l can do since Hond UK weeks later still haven t replied to my last e mail ;-( From my experience so far with the Manchester based dealer l cant say they've been very helpful, long story so l'll not ramble on but will update as and when ...

As the newest (only?) vendor on the site, I hear your pain - and may be able to ease it. I'm the North American distributor for Shifting ContRoll Systems, which specialises in QS components and kits. I can offer a plug'n'play QS kit for the CB(R)650 for US$155. That's GBP125 for those in the UK, and apparently a huge savings over the Honda part.

So who wants one?

Ordered mine from Webike on Thursday last and showed up on Monday before 10am. I did pay for Fedex shipping so total about $200. Pretty easy install. First quick shifter I've ever used but I would say definitely worth it. I had it slip into neutral once going from 1st to 2nd but I think I was being pretty lazy on the shift. Otherwise its been flawless. Really enjoying it. Hopefully everyone starts getting theirs and can chime in on their experience as well.

Got mine fitted today by the Manchester main Honda dealer on my first service. Not impressed with the service, didn t even look at my chain, the oil and filter were changed but after checking the level l had to drainalmost 0.5 litre as it was way above the max mark on the dipstick!!
The quick shifter l couldn t really test properly as the ride home wasn t outside town. A short stretch of motorway where l tested it and it works ;-) a few times l slightly shut off as l'm so used to the normal gear changing. Will give it a better test soon, by the way l'm not impressed that the QS ball joint at the top of the arm/mechanism has no lube in it and is an open ball joint with no rubber boot like the original ones have. If you used the bike in poor weather l'd not think it would last long before it got worn then the whole QS is scrap! you'd have thought the ball joints would be separate/changeable from the QS unit?
