Luggage Givi top box rails with R&G tail tidy

Hi all

just got my cb650f and tried adding a set of givi rails for my monolock top box. Problem is the R&G tail tidy makes it impossible to mount the rear bracket. Anyone else got this arrangement? Or should I look for an alternative tail tidy.
I can add pics if needed?

Cheers

Better late than never. I’ve got around to trying to fit the givi arms again with little success....

If I remove the R&G tail tidy. The givi rear backet fits ok. But I can’t get the tail today back on.

I’ve never seen the stock tail tidy. So not sure on the differences.
Anyone else got this configuration?

Any help much appreciated

Would some spacers and longer bolts create enough room below the givi brackets for the tail tidy to sail under other bracket?

Alternatively I think the Shad setup is slightly different and wouldn't clash

Cheers, I’ll see what I can find. Got the top box already from a previous bike. So would be better if I didn’t have to buy it all again. I’ll post how I get on. Thanks again 👍

Afraid not. Lost the will. But I need luggage for this spring summer. So I’ll have to pull my finger out soon! I’ll post if I make a breakthrough

Did you manage to sort this? My bike came with a tail tidy fitted and I'm thinking of getting a top box for it.
All sorted . Just needed to create some extra space for the givi bar that goes across the back.

Used some washers underneath the tail tidy to give it some extra clearance. Looking good now.

Patent @Patent - thanks for the idea 💡

Late post to this thread but I'm facing a similar problem. My CBR650F has some sort of aftermarket rear fender for the license plate. I have the givi rack on the way and I want to make sure it fits or if I'll have to do some work to it. Picture of my tail attached.

You can see the givi mount points by your turn signals. Those little square covers have fixing points behind them.

I doubt the givi rack will fit with that tail tidy in place.

Once you have a top box rack in place a tail tidy is pointless and you might as well put the oem parts back.

I see. Problem is the bike came without the oem tail. If I were to buy one off ebay, would it be too difficult to swap in the sense that I would need extra hardware or what holds this one can work?

I think you are missing some bits from the turn signals. It depends on what the ebay part comes with.

Apart from cabling the oem tail attaches with just four screws. I'd hope they'd be included.

While looking on ebay for oem I found one like this. Looks like one turn signal is damage but I can probably use my current one on it.

Update, got all the parts in. Unfortunately the rear fender I bought was missing the threads for the 2 rear bolts. I attached it with the one left and zip tied the fender to the rack once bolted on. It came out good.

I just went thru this same exercise on my 2018 CB650F. Owner had "lost" the OEM taillight and turn signals when he installed the tidy tail. Bought everything I needed off FB Marketplace and Partszilla Went back with the OEM taillight assembly and the Givi Rack and M8B plate. I'm concerned about visibility of the stop light. It seems somewhat concealed beneath the rear carrier. Has anyone considered mounting an auxiliary brake light more towards the rear of the bike?
