Hi guys, I just purchased my 2021 CBR650R, and i came from a ninja 300 with LED's replacing the old bulbs. Safe to say the ninja was very bright, espeically with high beams on. After picking up the CBR650R ive taken it highway riding a lot and the low beams are relatively dark, and the highbeams are very dim compared to the LED ninja. Is this normal? other than adjusting the bulb angle, could I upgrade the led globes?

Hi
Beans
Not sure what's going on there?
Mine are very bright and I've had complaints about dazzling other drivers,
If possible find someone else with same bike and do a comparison check ,
Just checking are all your lights led ?
In Uk all are led including indicators

Mine are all LED, it seems to be horrid for flooding the environment. it seems incredibly dark. IMG_1696.jpeg
thats the best photo i got of how it looks like for me . it somewhat shows the road but doesn’t flood at all

Yea doesn't look good
As I said mine are very bright so think you need to compare with another 650r ,
Did you get it from a dealer?
In UK we have mot stations and they check headlights as part of the annual mot ! Maybe you have similar in usa

From the pic, it doesn’t look very good at all. I will say no “standard” bulb will acceptably light the road at over 130mph unless you add auxiliary flood lighting lower on forks and something to the middle sides so if high speed is your main concern you’ll for sure have to go aftermarket add on.

Your 300 with the aftermarket LED bulb was super bright because the reflector isn’t made for that style bulb, the brightness most likely also wasn’t standard rating, so it throws light everywhere, especially on high beam, so that also may be where some of this is coming from. As far as replacing the bulb in the 650, it’s a single unit, I looked it up a while back for someone else, and doesn't have “replaceable“ standard socketed bulbs in it so you’ll have to replace the “unit” as a whole if there is an issue.

I guess I’d start there: is there an actual issue with your headlight. Do both sides light up fully on bright, is anything shifted off from a crash, does it not light up fully when you look at it, etc. If it’s all working as intended, and you still want brighter, you’ll need to go auxiliary lights.
