So fun fact that isn’t made for the 650 range. We sadly don’t get the single shotgun style CRT except we do get the twin version. Personally l do love the CBR1000 low low mount crt since it’s clean looking and a very nice free flowing exhaust. My trick is to buy either a cheap full system like a black widow or get the headers and mid pipe from Arrow and buy the CBR1000 SC slip on to merge them. Takes a bit of effort and finessing since the mounts won’t align and you’ll have to either expand your mid pipe to the size of the SC link pipe but it is possible. Good luck and if you have any question hit me up, l’ve gone through this a bunch!

So a solid plan is to buy the black widow full system and then buy the sc project crt slip on and just pop it on? If so which black widow full system model do I get?

Well black widow sells a header and mid pipe kit that you technically use to attach another black widow muffler too. But l say get that then an SC Project CRT but don't forget they are expensive as hell. I realised this when l checked and SC project is like 1k for a slip on lmao.

mmmm ok but so there’s no way I can just buy the original crt and make it fit on the 650r?

No since the SC project doesn't sell the headers and mid pipe that would connect to a low mount style CRT which is what l am guessing you want. You could buy the CRT muffler from the website and Akra, Arrow, Black Widow or Mussari headers and mid pipe then it would work. But no they don't sell a specific CRT single exit to the 650R.

All good buddy. Hope you make it work since it'll be definitely worth it. If you live in Victoria btw hit me up and lets go for a ride.

Having the bike derestricted and dyne tuned at the same time after you got all the exhaust is smart too but not immediately necessary. Don't bother for an air filter with "performance or high flow" in the same, the stock one does perfectly fine man. Its only a 1HP gain anyways so not a lot.

I have a friend who has a black widow system and he has no issues, plus he lives in the cbd and leaves his bike on the path regularly in the rain. But it is stainless steel so rust is inevitable so to get away with that a bit of metal polish and some coating should prevent it for certain times man. Don’t stress too much about it and if you do go for the arrow header and mid kit instead. Might not be as cheap but that’s what you pay for l guess.

Nah I like the idea of buy the pipes from black widow and then buying a crt sc project slip on to finish but would it sound the same or similar with a growl like sound?

Well technically no since the Black widow headers and mid pipe are a 4-2-1 style whereas SC projects and my mussari which has a very beefy noise run in the 4-1 format. But trust me either way it'll be loud and scream when on throttle. You can't go wrong with a high flowing muffler like SC project CRT.

Hey you know that black widow headers that you linked me? Will I need a mid pipe for the
muffler or will it be enough? If it will I might as well just buy those and the muffler

Well so the black widow headers have a mid pipe kinda. It goes from the 4-2 and then the 1 is technically the mid pipe area Since when you buy the whole full system from them the link pipe acts as a mid pipe as well and thats how it goes. I am sure you would find it better to spend the difference from the full system to get a mid pipe and link pipe to fit your SC project muffler.
