Hi Forum,

So in the preparation for the new season (in Canada) was thinking how to make my CBR650R more comfortable to ride long distances. from the experience of the first season after about an hour on the bike I had lower back pain. So I was thinking to modify the riding position by replacing clip-ons. Looked online (including here) and really couldn't find anything about it. So quick research and compassion I found that CBR500R 2019 has the same clip-ons as the 650 but higher. links to both:

2019 CBR650RA Part 14 and 20

Also got the following rear pegs from Aliexpress (It was cheap and thought to test those first before buying normal quality one)

Wondering if somebody might had some similar experience in the past or just will have some recommendations.

Thanks for all of you.

Pretty sure the 500 has smaller diameter clip-ons, since the fork isn't inverted.

There are several aftermarket clip-ons that will fit the 650R, just remember that 1.5" rise is equal to stock, so you if you want more rise than stock you will need 2" or higher clip-ons. I'm not sure how much slack the stock cables and wires have, though.

This is right, the 500 has non inverted forks so you’re looking at around a 41mm diameter where the 650 has inverted forks and will be closer to a 50mm diameter.

You’ll need to look aftermarket.

I have looked into it yesterday, and yes, you both right (can't believe I missed it) CBR500 is 41mm and CBR650 is 48mm. canceled my order and now will look at the aftermarket clip-ons.

Hi i'm interested as well, a bit more of an upright position would help a lot on long rides, feeling the back as well, the wrists and legs are ok though.

Found this modded bike online, those clipons would eork2 but can't find clip on risers for our model anywhere, several websites only have them for the previous F model or the CB version

Hello, I am trying to install 4inch Apex clip on riser on my cbr650r. How did you loosen the wires to accommodate for the rise in handlebars?
