I assume you are using imperial measures when you say gallon. Lots of folks here are using US gallon measure which of course is quite different, and that may be what the reviews were quoting. If that 48 mpg you refer to was US gallon size, then that equates to 57.6 mpg Imperial, making it identical with the official Honda figure of 20.4 km/l. It really helps to state the size of gallon used when discussing mpg.Mystery solved.
All the reviews I read weren’t quoting the official MPG figures and the 48MPG I had been seeing was obviously journos ragging it pretty hard.
Official Honda MPG of the 2022 CBR650R is shown below in km/l as 20.4
Converting to MPG gives 57.2 MPG.
So the 58 ish read measured figure is about right though perhaps closer to the official figure than I would expect as I haven’t been cruising it most of the time. The dash 62 MPG figure is clearly a bit on the hopeful side however!
That aside, I have gotten up to 68 MPG Imperial measure on my 2018 650F. That would be easy riding in warm temps. Average consumption is less of course; more like 55 to 60 mpg
