Hey all, I was riding on saturday, pulled into a petrol station to fill up and as i was walking back to the bike I noticed a little bit of dark liquid under my bike about 10 cm away from my kickstand. Took a closer look at my overflow valves and they were completely dry. I looked closer and saw the inside of my fairing was well coated in some sort of black liquid and the bottom of my engine appeared damp in comparison to the rest of it. No oil or engine lights came on so I decided to head home and it was running considerably hotter than usual. Checked my coolant and oil levels and they were fine so I'm just wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue and if so what was it. Thanks in advance :)

Could be an oil leak but we need more info and pictures. Clean your engine thoroughly so you can see where it’s leaking (don’t forget your front sprocket! Maybe it’s to much chainlube)

Chain lube/spray?

Thanks for your responses guys, rang up my mechanic and he swung by to have a look. It was just a small oil leak caused by a few bolts that hadnt been screwed in all the way when I put my engine covers on lol. Won't be touching anything mechanical until I actually learn how to properly form now on 😂

Buy a torque wrench, grab the service manual and ensure everything is tightened to specification.

You'll be fine. Replacement of engine covers themselves also requires new sealant being applied. If you meant crash covers, that's fine.
