Hi there and welcome!
Are you our very first 650R owner then? :)

Might be!

I test ride one on the Tuesday and collected it the following Thursday. It was the first the dealer sold. I’m suprised there isnt more on here i didn’t think I would be the first.

It was hand over fist a better bike than it’s rivals, the XSR700 is a good bike but not even close to this. And it’s only £6995.

I really loved my old Hornet and this just feels so much like it, so far I’m having a ball with it.

Lovely. I was told if you ordered the bike before the end of January you'd get a free quickshifter in the UK. I guess you missed that offer but did the dealer offer you that windscreen? What other accessories do you have on it?

Yeah missed out on the free quick shifter but I wouldn’t buy it with out a test ride. The screen came with the comfort pack along with heated grips and 12v socket.

Dealer gave me a decent PX for my old bike which clinched the deal plus they could get it all ready in 2 days, so I thought what the hell....

Hello there,
How's the fueling on lower revs? Do please tell us more about it as you intimately start getting to know her. Power-wise, ergonomics, looks, quirks, etc. Big thanks.

Fuelling at low revs is fine, not snatchy at all unlike the original MT09 and z900rswhich almost give you whiplash lol it was one thing that worried me. I don’t really noticed anything so that’s a good thing.

My god is she smooth to ride, the clutch is as light as they come, only complaint is the clutch is not adjustable. Handling is fantastic as you would expect. The dash is easy clear to read, however it is shiny so you get a reflection on it, but in-time someone will bring out anti glair screen protector I suspect.
It needs a tail tidy, but don’t they all.

Being a naked bike the airflow is smooth with no buffering and the addition of the screen makes it even better. Up to 70 mph you don’t notice anything 70-80 slight pressure and 80+ you feel it. However the only time it becomes an issue really is over 90. I’m doing a progressive run in as recommended by Honda so gave it some beans last time out and took it to 110, I’m happy not to want to go over that.
The actual riding position is slightly forward, I did consider changing the handle bars, However it’s not Uncomfortable and I’m in a mind to leave it. Very different To the upright adventure bike I was use to. In fact I’m finding it very comfy, the position suits the bike.
I love the look, cannot comment on the lights as it’s not been out at night yet.

I’ve had to clean it properly once, annoyingly Honda don’t fit bobbin mounts so I’ve sold mystands and invested in a Abba Stand. She is easy to clean, less fiddly than my old bike and everything is easy to reach.
When the warranty is out I’ll do all my own servicing and it looks pretty straight forward.

Thank you very much for the feedback. Good to know. I'm sure it will get even better as you break her in.
Now, I'm thinking I might have to trade my other bike for that. Originally, I was looking trading one of my bikes to XSR 700, but I think I'll just stay with the family.

Will tinting your windscreen reduce the glares on your display?

No, did think of that but it won’t work.
To be fair it’s not too bad.

One thing I have notices is my bike gear rubbed on the tank a bit. I added a tank pad to it, which I my opinion finishes it off nicely. However where my legs went one of the seams of my bike gear started to mark the tank. It was easy to polish out the scuff, so no big deal. But what I did was cut a bit of Helicopter tape to shape and stuck it on the tank. It will protect it from any marks while still looking good.

Try them both out. I personally felt the Honda was better built, better forks, better brakes. Don’t get me wrong, the Yam is a great bike but the Honda is so much better in my eyes.
