CB650R E Clutch 2024 delays...

Hey Folks! There she is! Cool design, cool sound, great maneuverability. I was so eager to ride it that I ended up doing almost 150 km in one day! No E-Clutch at the moment, I keep it disalbed, because I was probably excited at first, but it confused me a bit during the first few kilometers.

amazing! I can't wait for Saturday tog et mine. I drove it for a couple of days this summer, it's weird at the begininng but then it turn out super easy and comfortable to drive using the e-clutch while in city traffic and for quickshifting is super since it works even at low revs.
Which tyres are installed? Seems different from the one on the bike I've tried.

It's crazy that this is happening in Japan for a Japanese brand

...but made in Thailand....at least my 2023 CBR650R and CL500 were. Not very impressive wherever one lives really; most unlike Honda.

I note that my local dealer is advertising a new E-clutch CB650R in stock. Price is "POA". Curious; other bikes have their price displayed. Whatever, it seems that there may be e-clutch bikes in the Honda UK stock network that either have not been pre-ordered or the orders have been cancelled...

The price has increased since I ordered mine in May, and it may go up again March 2025. However, I have a deal in writing

Wasn’t too bad. I only passed my test in may so and havnt had a bike since July(125cc) so very cautious. I’ve done 172miles in the last 2 nights after work and it’s great for my skill level. Only thing to note( for less experienced people such as myself) the turning circle is smaller than the 2023 model. Just about dropped it 45mins after collecting due to being caught off guard with hitting full lock earlier than the bike I done my das(direct access test)

Got mine on Saturday, the dealer managed to install also the heated grips the day befor handling it to me, in the end the only delayed accessry is the tank sticker that has arrived with CBR logo instead of CB, not bad.
Unfortunately they're overwhelmed with services so I got mine booked as soon as 22nd of November, I've picked up the bike and already did 417km, will be so hard to wait more than one month and limit myself to 1000km

Yeah, that made me quite surprised, past year I've got confirmed the production would have been Japan dor 2024 as well, I've found some imperfection in assembly (the black plastic cover on the tank front side) on mine but don't know if depends on where it has been produced.

My perception is that Honda quality at the lower end of the price spectrum has declined in recent years. The last high quality Honda I bought was a Crossrunner in 2019. That was made in Japan and was way better than the 2020 NC750X, the 2023 CBR650R and the 2023 CL500, all made in Thailand, I've bought since. The Crossrunner was relatively expensive though, but also had a more costly to make V4 motor. If I could still handle the weight it would be in my garage now....

Japanese manufactured products had a good reputation. However, worldwide everything is manufactured for a price point.
The quality on my Gixer 1000 2013 was much higher than the 2 CBR650Rs I have had.

The problem now for manufacturers is the low prices of Chinese and Indian bikes that are getting to be nearly as good as anything else for a lot less money and are building up decent dealer networks. The impact is greater for A2 and mid-range bikes where there's a lot of competition and prices are sensitive.

There are some calls for a boycott in Japan, and many people seem to be cancelling their reservations.

Yes, I've had three Made in Japan cars and were built perfectly. Honda has also a factory here in Italy, near my parent's place and was hoping at least they were made there but not Thai of course.

I hope for you bro, just a couple of weeks and it will be there. Here in Italy they said Septemebr and bikes arrived in September so it would be pretty realistic if they said November.
