Frustrating as they were all selected before the voucher came out so not sure why they didn’t get installed in the factory. Maybe just how it’s done in the bike industry. Should maybe change dealer
AFAIK based on several new Hondas bought recently all accessories are fitted by the dealer. I have never paid specifically for fitting as the cost has either been sucked up by the dealer (a small independent) or has been included in whatever options pack I have selected.

I chose the sport pack when I ordered my CBR650R. The accessories are fitted at the dealer and they don't charge extra for this.

As others have said, the anccessories are installed at the dealer, unlike cars your vehicle is not built especially for you and your order.

I’ve never ordered a bike but anything that I’ve asked to be installed on a new bike I’ve ended up paying or bargaining for install on unless it’s specifically spelled out in the purchase. On my STRS I installed the heated grips and cruise myself, but had the dealer include activating during the first service which was also included.

What accessories are they fitting?
Perhaps you should tell the dealer you're not happy.
Heated grips are the only big thing I would say. OEM ones. The side tank shroud(can’t remember its exact name). I already said I wasn’t happy and I wouldn’t be paying labour to which the salesman stood firm and said Honda isn’t giving them anything towards it so they wouldn’t take the hit and won’t allow me to use some of the £500 voucher to cover the labour. Accessories only. So I’d lose the voucher if i didn’t pick items to the value of £500.

You are right then. First time buying a bike and assumed wrongly that it would be like a car. Live and you learn

Labour would be internal and could be taken out of the profit. A small amount to ensure the customer is happy.

A dealer to avoid. Can you share their name please?

Oh yes, make sure the survey you receive from Honda reflects this. Dealers want 100% satisfied. Honda won't like it.

It seems a small amount in comparison to the value of the bike but an extra £130 I wasn’t expecting to pay. It’s weird as everyone else raves about their customer service but won’t seem to budge on this. I definitely will be.

There is very little, to almost no, profit in new motorcycle sales, sorry if you think there is. It’s maybe a few hundred bucks, if that, unless they tack on huge setup fees and you pay it. Destination fee is paid to Honda; setup is a lot of times the only place they can make money. Your dealer a lot of times will be happy to show you invoice which is what they pay unless they are a super high volume dealer and get rebates and kickbacks from Honda. Most don’t.

So piss all you want but if you want that dealer to be there in the future for you to order parts or get service, allowing them a bit of a break and feeding them a little cash to install some parts is a good way for them to jerp their lights on and keep stock on hand. And keep techs on the payroll.

Customer should be happy but be reasonable in their expectations.

Indeed there are bonus payments depending on how many bikes are sold.
In the UK car industry there's also bonuses dependant on customer service scores. I believe this is the same in the UK motorcycle industry.
Then there's also profit to make on selling the part exchanges. My dealer put circa £1000 on my last bike I px'd

Small update, they told me to wait till October the 12th because heated grips are not yet arrived and the garage is busy👀 So I agreed to get it on the 4th anyways and let them install the handles at the first service that is planned after 1000km, hopefully will not be that cold to need this accessory until November.

Call them and say you're trying to sort out your insurance and you need the handover day
I was avoiding calling them as I would have probably cancel the order out of frustration but just after posting they called me, my bike is there and will be available to collect from Monday. But I can not get there till Saturday as I need notice to get time out of work to collect it, witch could of been organised with a little better communication off them, but on the positive side not long to go now.

In Japan, there has been no official delivery information since the recall information. There has been no information on special offers from the manufacturer, and users who have been waiting since April have no choice but to accept the loss of opportunity.

Hey Folks! There she is! Cool design, cool sound, great maneuverability. I was so eager to ride it that I ended up doing almost 150 km in one day! No E-Clutch at the moment, I keep it disalbed, because I was probably excited at first, but it confused me a bit during the first few kilometers.

It's crazy that this is happening in Japan for a Japanese brand:confused:
