Hello everyone.
Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing delays in the UK on delivery of new 2024 Eclutch CB650Rs?

Hi mate, have you had any update? Ordered 15th of may and still had no correspondence from Honda

Hello,
Yeah, not good news unfortunately, I ordered mine at the end of April and just been told it's in the UK being held due to a technical issue relating to the indicators. The new ETA is end of October but not guaranteed.
Apparently there is going to be £500 contribution towards Honda accessories offered to customers if the order isn't cancelled.
Are you in the UK? Where did you order yours from?

It seems I only made it 2-3 weeks before deliveries were halted. I placed my order on 27 March and received CBR on 22 April (it arrived a few days before that date).I did not wait any longer to order as I was concerned about long awaiting time. I waited about two months when I ordered the Forza 350 two years earlier. It was a good decision anyway 😁

Hi there, got an email also regarding the £500 contribution but nothing said about dates either. Edinburgh. Have been offered a hornet 750 instead as they can’t tell me when I’ll get it. Appreciate the reply

I do really want the CB650R but not sure I can wait until the end of October tbh, such a shame.
The Hornet looks nice, do you think you'll go for that?
What have your dealership told you in regards to the delay?

I’ve not ridden one if I’m honest. I’m actually considering getting a 2023 cb650r. Just completed das the week I put a deposit down so having to use a 125cc atm is killing me. Wouldn’t be so bad if I had something more powerful in the meantime. Still not heard anything from them. Don’t think they want to commit to a date. I’ve not even heard about the October speculation yet. The guy did say they were honouring the jan-June orders but unclear what that meant at the time. Are you going to wait?

Does anyone know why there is a delay? Is it a supply chain issue or is there something wrong, identified by the early adopters? I have a 2023 and see no need to change. Just curious really.

I'm on the Polish FB groups and everyone mentions about some problems with indicators. But there are no details or official information. Only rumours passed on from dealers. There is also no recall for models that have already left dealers.

One of the comments (translated):
"When I spoke to Honda a week ago, lady let me know that October/November and that there would definitely be price reductions.
Whether sooner - depends on how quickly you can find someone to replace some fck-ups, as apparently the turn signals are flashing at a frequency incompatible with EU standards :v But initially Honda wanted to stop production completely for this year of the cb650r, but apparently quite a few dealers in Europe have caved and are to not stop. So MAYBE there will be enough for everyone."

Thanks; that's clear. Not sure I'd want a first-gen one. If DCT is anything to go by it took ten years to refine....

This E-clutch system is much simpler than the DTC. But you are right, first gen is always tricky. But it´s Honda, thei seem to be the only ones to make it right the first time.
See the 1st gen of the twin CP2 engine from the new Hornet and Transalp? Redesinged from scratch, zero problems, booom, right the first time!!

Few if any bikes are right first time. Some modification is usually made in the light of experience from early adopters, the reason why I prefer to wait. Let the pioneers return with arrows in their back....😀

Awe no! I was in the situation as well, just passed my DAS and placed the order, had a delivery date of 4 weeks so sold my 125!
I've just bought a 2nd hand street triple 675 as I needed something to commute, so really undecided on wether to cancel the order or not, by the time end of October is here I'm not really going to have much use out of it for preceding 3 months!
If I hear anything regarding delivery I'll let you know.

It’s frustrating as you see people getting brand new 2023 models and I’m not sure I’ll even use the e clutch anyway. Just added it due to only being £100. Im tied with having bought some accessories for it so unless I sell them I’ll need to wait, was considering getting a cheap run around, contacted Honda today to see if they would allow me to trade in my 125 and give me some form of approved used bike in the meantime. Shy kids and all that. Appreciate that I’ll let you know how it goes also

Well I've experienced the E clutch and it's great, I had a loan of a demo CBR and used it all the time and will do on my bike if I decide to keep it on order.
Definitely worth the ask, they might have something, if not have a look on bike trader.
This is my current ride...View attachment 15235
How long did you get a loan for?nice one mate looks amazing. Might have too. Will need to get rid of this 125 first but can’t see that being an issue. If you really liked the e clutch I’d keep your order

About 6 weeks, the garage loaned it as they thought my bike would arrive within 3 weeks! So its back with them now.
Yeah, my 125 was only on for 2 weeks and sold to the 1st person to see it.
I've also bought a few bits for my CB too, which is another reason to keep the order 🤷🏼‍♂️

It will be worth it when you finally get it. Hopefully they agree to a loan of some sort as well. It would certainly help the wait time. What accessories did you go for?

Just an update for you. I was in trading in my 125 at the weekend and the salesman didn’t do much to help. Wouldn’t allow me to loan a bike for a couple of weeks. Didn’t seem to know much about why there was a delay. His take was” I’m still allowed to sell units that have arrived meaning the problem must be a supply issue. If it was safety related I wouldn’t be allowed to sell them” he thinks it’s the display as that’s one of the few parts that are on all the held up vehicles. Was hinting towards buying a new cl500 and trading it in later. It doesn’t make sense the amount I would lose on it. Not much help at the end of it all.

Hi there,
I'm from Belgium and ordered my CBR650R on May 11th, to be delivered 3 weeks later. As I didn't get any update and the delivery date was well overdue, I contacted the dealer and also got the bad news of delay. Only after a few weeks and insistence, I got the bad news "Homologation problem with the indicators and no more deliveries for the time being. No visibility on delivery date and could possibly go quickly."

Apparently, the motorcycles that were already at dealers, could still be sold. Because there's no safety issue. (Got to know this from a motor news website in the Netherlands..)
Unfortunately my dealer didn't inform me so I didn't know in time, so I had no chance to contact another dealer...

Mid July I asked for an update. The delivery date is now set to December, but the dealer says this is fictitious.
According to my dealer, they also don't know the status of the problem.

I also called Honda customer care in Ghent, but they can't give me any information at all..
Kind of weird..

I find it very unfortunate that there is absolute no communication from Honda, or there's no quicker solution.
Also I haven't heard of any compensation (like you guys say for accessories) at all.
I got my licence on July 3th and have been without a bike since then.. While the bike season ticks away..
Most likely, we can put the planned motorcycle trips aside until next year 😕
