Hello.
Yesterday I drove the Hornet home.
I'm impressed. There's nothing to dislike.
Using the CB650 as a reference, position is similar but legs are bit more straight, thus significantly more comfortable in the 130km I rode home.
Despite the numbers, the bike is very easy to hadle and control the engine. The FBW throttle is much better that the cable.
Engine is very refined and powerfull even at lower revs.
It is and feals like a big bike, but sweet to ride. Handling is impressively sweet for a liter bike! The 4 LED projectors are very effective. Really impressed! Build quality in there. It's very good, as expected from a Honda.

Hi all
I've got cb1000r and the build quality is amazing and after watching the reviews the new hornet looks amazing and priced well but I'd rather pay more for the quality of my cb1000r
While I agree that the fit and finish seems to be nicer on the CB100R, I have heard that the chassis on the CB1000R was a bit weird whereas the new twin spar chassis on the CB1000 Hornet is apparently fantastic. I really like both bikes but if I was going to buy one I would probably go for the Hornet. I wish it had a simple one button cruise control though. I'll keep my CB650R for a few more years though. Only had it for 1 year and 8,500km.

Doesn't look bad at all... for a white bike 😜

What about the weight? Do you feel a big difference comparing with the CB?

Nope! Weight seems similar. Handles better, easier to ride!
Front brakes are the same used on the CB650 but the radial master makes them sharper. The rear brake, also the same of the 650 and equally "useless". But bacause it still needs to brake in, I will be waiting to see.

Front brakes are the same used on the CB650 but the radial master makes them sharper. The rear brake, also the same of the 650 and equally "useless". But bacause it still needs to brake in, I will be waiting to see.
Lucky man, it looks beautiful! How many km have you done so far?

The rear brake "useless"!? Don't know if your CB had a different rear brake, but mine has a nice rear brake. 🙄
My Tracer 7 had a rear brake very on/off. I was always activating the abs. That was useless.
On the CB I can apply a progressive braking intensity without triggering the abs. Much more useful.

Mine is nearly useless; so is the one on my CL500. Both standard; while aftermarket pads would probably solve this, I don't see why I should have to spend money to get decent brakes on a new bike.

It should say in the owners manual but it looks like it would replace something bolted on that can be removed in certain countries or areas. I get that’s vague, and kind of a duh statement, but is there like an inspection tag bracket or something else that can be easily removed? Should be a metal bracket going through a plastic panel based on the contents of the bag.

Not seeing any parts fiche for the ‘25s yet either or I’d suggest checking there.

Me too 😁 and I always apply both brakes too. 😃

I think there's some factors that can affect our perception of the rear break ability, not directly related to the break. 🙄
For example... I've ridden a Diavel. A bike with a better rear break.
However, it's also a bike with alot more torque (better engine braking), larger rear tyre, and a weight distribution with more weight on the rear. All these factors help to brake better with the rear. So, while I agree that the CB doesn't have the best rear brake in the world, being a bike with more weight on the front and less engine braking ability, will never have a rear braking as good as some other bikes.

Also surprised Canada is getting both Hornets (rebadged as CB’s) and the NT 1100 for 2025 and the US isn’t.
It's just been announced they finally are coming here to the US and it's even listed now on Honda's US website.

I got a chance to check it out in person at the Vancouver Motorcycle Show back in January. For a base MSRP of just $11K USD for the SP model available for the US, that's excellent value, if you ask me.

I'm loving the Hornet. Today I have booked the 1.000Km maintenance.

Honda has been just so bland for so many years, finally one with an edge.
I think Transalp and NX500 are great bikes too. Just in a different type of bike. Even the NT1100 it's getting better.
Also, if you look at prices, I think Honda is fighting back the low prices of chinese bikes.

On some bikes, not all, Honda is definitely producing cheaper bikes. What puzzles me is that the new GB350S is a real steal, yet it is made in Japan, where presumably labour costs are higher than in Thailand. I wonder if it is being sold as a loss leader, perhaps to get new riders hooked on the brand. It is certainly better made than the Thailand ones.
