I looked up some tuning for the CB1000R and was surprised how restricted it is.

Also surprised Canada is getting both Hornets (rebadged as CB’s) and the NT 1100 for 2025 and the US isn’t.

This new hornet sp is not bad at all, maybe with a tail tidy and an exhaust that doesn't look like a boat chimney can be even better

I think the sp version in black and gold looks great, but that exhaust is screaming to be replaced...

and there's a SC-Project on the list of accessories

This euro 5 (+) exhaust are staggering expensive, SC made quality product but they cost more than a tenth of the price of the bike

Anyway would probably select this accessory as you're still spending for something basically unnecessary 😄

Hello everyone. With a mix of joy and sadness, allow me to share that my beloved CB is about to be replaced by this white Hornet 1000. If weather allows, I will be sharing my first impressions this week.
I'm sad to let the CB go. It's a fantastic bike, my great companion for 34kkm. I still belive it's a great bike for me, but everything in this life has it's time and I have to let her go.

I will wait a year or so to see if market abundance makes the price lower or maybe I'll learn to live with it. It's really ugly and live it doesn't look better 🙃

Hi will probably end up replacing cb1000r everywhere!
Me personally I've got a 2019 cbr650r and a 2021 cb1000r and love both bikes but I wouldn't change either for the new hornet !
I may consider adding to my garage but don't think a bike that's £4000 less to buy than the cb1000r will be as good quality or reliable as my cb1000r,
Now not saying it won't be a hoot to ride every review says it's good but in hot sunshine ride reviews it should be ,
Personally I'd like to look at one in a year's time that's Been riden in british weather all year round
The secret for Hornet 1000 low price is not lower quality. It's simplicity, the usage of many existing parts fron other Hondas and overall... Lean manufacturing. The engine is from a 2017 Foreblade, and the list would continue...

Congrats!!!! What made you decide to forgo the extra $$$ for the SP? Just curious; honestly the regular Hornet is a wicked bike for an insane price so I’d have to think hard about the extra money being worth it. My guess is a tune/flash will get the added 10hp back and the shock will probably be the typical OEM Ohlins, fine but not a true TTX quality shock (similar to the Ohlins on the back of my STRS). I’m seeing more reports of people buying the lower spec after riding both.

Please give is a good riding impression and compare once you get few miles on her.

I'm not the type of rider who needs an Ohlins shock and extra 5hp in a bike with already 150. The front brake calipers are the same we have on the 650s, with a Nissin radial master cilynder. I don't see the point of having fancy italian calipers painted red 😉 Calipers are simply hydraulic cylinders, italian or not.
I would be spending 1000€ and not taking any advantage of those "improvements".
I absolutely admit that I don't need those 150hp, but that was never a decision factor for me. I will use the power I need, max power is just a number. A bike is much more than the max power it makes.
Also don't like the SP colour! The pearl white, seen live was really my favourite. So, easy to choose...

I'd buy the standard one too. My dealer reckons they'll be easier to get hold of as most will want the SP. Ohlins is all very well if you ride regularly but the seals can leak if left unused. I don't claim to be a good enough rider to tell the difference anyway - best tyres would be where my money would go.

If EnglishBikerDan and LambChopRides says the bike is good, you can be sure it is, because these two have no issues in saying it 😉
I'm always a bit cynical about reviews as the guys never give a bad one, it would be crazy to do so as the bikes they get to ride would stop. However, Dan bought one

I was jokig, obviously. Agree...
Honda is very conservative in adopting radical solutions. This bike has a good, proven, reliable Fireblade engine. Many of its components are from other bikes. Honestly, I didn't considered for a minute that this will not be a good and performant bike. I'll only be waiting to see if it is an easy bike to ride around comfortably. Honda always play it safe. I'm sure I'll not be disappointed.

Congrats for the new bike Cláudio! 😀

I would go for the black... I think I would go for the SP just for the black! 😅
But it's good that not everyone has the same tastes.

Anyway, I'm sure you'll like the bike, as Honda never makes bad bikes and for that price, it's a good deal 👍

I would choose the black too, not because I need the extra of the SP, but I don't like the insectoid light on the front too much, is one of the main reason I'd bought the CB instead of another bike, and in black it look better for me
