    Transmission Issues

I’ve had my 2016 cbr650f for about 6 months now and weather finally cleared up for me to go riding. When I was out riding today my gears were jumping (cruising in 5th and when pinned, jumped to 2nd). Towards the end of my ride, my bike wasn’t shifting out of 1st gear, to which I assumed my...

Latest 2019+ CBR650R still uses speed sensor from transmission?

Or did it shift to ABS sensor for ABS models? Couldn't find anything concrete with site search or goog search.

    All 650Rs Shifting too smooth?

Okay, I’m sitting at 2300 miles, and up until this past week my shifting hasn’t been an issue but Monday I get on the bike, all seems well in the morning, by the evening after letting the bike warm up before my ride home, I notice there is almost no clutch feel when releasing the lever. Same on...

    All 650's Transmission problems

Hi All, My 2019 CBR650R has developed an interesting problem over the last 2-3 months with the transmission. It will now completely fall out of gear while steady cruising. Typically happens in 2nd gear and falls back into neutral, but will also now fall out of 3 into "--" on the gear indicator...

    All 650's Clunky/aggressive gearbox

Hey, Is it just me or is the CB650F/R gearbox really clunky/aggressive? Putting it in first I get a really hard jerk with a strong clunk, and when driving the same shifting up to second and third(I can feel it in the whole bike when the gear slips into place). Something to be done? Could it...

    CBR650R New bike problems?

Bought my bike brand new (3 miles on the odometer), in mid July Haven't ridden much because, well, we all know why Has about 250 miles now and I've already noticed a few things, that I thought would be sorted right from the start. And shouldn't need maintenance already. Had anyone else had...

Notchy gear change from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 1st.

Got a 2018 CBA650F, did 10K on it, purchased brand new. The gear change from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 1st is very inconsistent and notchy. Especially from 2nd to 1st it is very inconsistent. Sometimes it just switched in to Neutral sometimes to 1st. Only way around it is to really hammer it down...

    CB650R Shifting gears not smooth?

Hello! I recently purchased my first motorcycle, currently sitting at just over 1500 KMs. Before buying one I had done a lot of research on which motorcycle to get and many times the gearbox would be praised being buttery smooth, elegant and so on. CB650R being my first real experience I don't...

CB650F Bike doesn't like the oil

I was due for my normal scheduled oil change, so I went with Mobile 1 4T Racing Oil 10w-40 for my 2018 CB650F (3qt. of oil) & a K&N oil filter. Now, remember this is supposed to be some of the best motorcycle oil in the world aside from Motul. Ever since, the bike just seems to not like it. I...

All 650Fs What’s your shifting style?

When I used to own parallel twins, I shifted in a specific pattern that kept fuel efficiency and rapid acceleration in mind. I’m sure the same can be done with inline fours, but with torque all over the map on this bike, and larger margin of fuel economy, it’s hard to tell/develop an idea of...

    CBR650R False neutral/3rd Gear/down shift while standing

Hi everyone, I’m now riding my CBR650R for 2 Months with about 2600ish Km. I noticed that i have issues shifting down when having clutch pulled. So basicly i hit some kind of false neutral i guess. But my Gear-indicator on screen does not show any Gear, it just says: (--), anyone of you also...

    All 650's Adjusting gear lever

Adjusting the gear lever height is one thing that will make your CB(R)650 feel much nicer to ride. Here's how you do it... due to me having a massive argument with the BB code implementation on the forum post editor, it's a webpage. http://bramleys.org/cbr650f/gear_lever/ J
