General Info

My goal was to sharpen the bike up and make it look a tad more sporty without spending too much or making it look "tacky".

Thought I'd share :)

Style & Safety Mods

- Gloss Black spray painted Front mudguard, Seat cowl, Shroud covers.
- Rizoma Bar end mirrors and Rizoma Bar ends (with SATO Racing bar weights installed)
- ASV C5 shorty levers
- R&G rear foot-peg blanking plates
- R&G side grips, Honda tank protector, Fuel cap protector (ordered from R&G)
- R&G Tail Tidy
- R&G front fork sliders
- Honda Smoked Windshield

- DID 525 X-Ring Gold Chain with JT Sprockets (Standard Gearing)

Ill be honest mate i haven't really put them to proper use xD I mainly got them to stop any serious scratches if get on the tank (or any scratches at all since gloss black is a pain to keep scratch free). My knees dont rest on the tank unless im giving it some in the corners so i cant comment on grip or feel of them as haven't been on track with it yet to properly try them. But in person they dont look "out of place" like a grip pad just stuck on a tank despite the fact, they are grip pads stuck on a tank xD

If your interested fitting wise, cleaned the tank with some isopropyl alcohol then stuck bottom corner first to match lines of tank with the pad, then just rolled it the rest of the way. I stuck them on when bike was new so it didnt have wax/polish on tank to start with so they are certainly stuck on there, 1500 miles later and been though rain, heatwaves everyday and not a slight chance of any lifting off or coming un-stuck.

Looks great, can you link to the inner bar weights please?, i'd really like bar end mirrors but if it's a pain getting out the inner weight and installing the new one i'd rather not, did you find it easy enough?, thanks.

Brought them from here as had faster shipping than ordering from SATO themselves :) I couldnt at the time order just the weights so had to get the bar end with it (i ended up using the rizoma bar ends so i never used the sato ones).

Getting the old ones out is simple but involves alot of swearing xD My grip on the clutch side wasnt stuck anyways so i just slid it off and pinched the 2 pins on the weight and it slid out perfectly. The throttle side however, i didnt want to remove the throttle body so instead of taking the grip off, i just used a flat-head screw driver and some pliers and just kept yanking it hard to snap the pins off....took me about 30 mins just on that side, whereas the clutch side only took 5 mins max. I'm not planning on using the old weights again so thats why i just snapped it off, but the part to replace it is very cheap so if i ever needed to re-use the old weights, im happy with re-purchasing the little pins.

Note that my bike was brand new when i removed them so the bar was nice and clean, some people have had a real struggle trying to get weights out of "not as new" bikes due to water collecting in the bar causing rust and dirt build up making the weight super stuck in in there.

Installing the new Sato weights are literally just put in bar and tighten (with your bar end attached to it), super super easy, but make sure its semi-tight when you put it in the bar or the end on the weight might fall down the bars, then you'll have the joy or trying to retrieve the thing. I think i watched some vids on youtube to see how others did it, i didnt find many but i think there was a couple that really helped.

Thanks a lot, i've already ordered a new set of normal bar mounted mirrors but i think i will order the inner weight and some bar end mirrors also to change the look when i feel like it, cheers.

Can't find any stock of the sato racing inner weights, with or without the bar ends, does anyone know of a place with stock?, the place i ordered from doesn't have stock.

Would the Rizoma Proguard lever guards work directly with the Sato inner weights?

I personally like the Rizoma's better than the Sato guards, but Sato sells that inner weight which I would need

Haven't got a clue mate sorry. I'd assume the Rizoma lever guards would work with sato inner weights, after all the inner weights are just for the bar-end to screw into, as oppose the bar end screwing into the small cone shaped nut that opens the metal "clamp" that holds it in place if that makes sense.
But again, sorry i dont have a solid answer on that.
