Exactly right, mate.
I sent him a long email detailing exactly how I felt so it was good to get it off my chest.
I think people should be well aware of what they're getting themselves into before handing over their hard earned money.
Platinum from the very get go seemed so much more...
Thanks, @Sudesh
That is exactly how I felt.
Why tell me in the middle of the job "oh, by the way, I am out of unrestricted snorkels but don't worry, I have drilled yours instead".
Disgusting practice.
He wasn’t interested and dismissed my concern like I’m imagining things.
Basically told me to ride the bike and stop worrying about it.
I wish I had taken your advice and went to Platinum.
Doesn’t matter now, I’m off my restrictions and time to buy a big boys bike!
Sorry guys, haven’t been on here for a while.
I spoke with a few other reputable bike shops who said it’s not normal and their tunes that take a week to complete do not act in this matter.
Moral of the story, do not take your bike to someone that can do it in a day.
Buyer beware of dyno bike in Moorabbin.
Absolutely no care or concern after he has taken your money.
He drilled my OEM snorkels instead of using unrestricted snorkels and the bike had developed a flat spot between 3-4K rpm when twisted at full throttle.
I called other bike shops who said his...
Sorry guys, haven’t been on here for a while but I just wanted you to know my bike had developed a flat spot between 3-4K rpm when twisted at full throttle.
Dave @ Dynobike basically told me there’s nothing wrong with the bike and dismissed my concern.
I called a more reputable bike shop who...
In a video he made, he said the unrestricted funnels are better than drilling out the OEM funnels because they’re shorter.
I was never given this option and was lied to on the day I took my bike in.
He told me there’s no difference except it doesn’t look as clean.
Wouldn't trust Dave @...
Thank you so much for your detailed reply once again, I'm so glad to know there's someone that knows what he's talking about.
The only answer I seem to get from dyno shops here is you need to compensate one thing for another and there's nothing I can do about it.
It was really getting me down...
Thanks for your reply mate, much appreciated.
What I don't understand is why I get this delayed feeling when I fully twist the throttle? What do you think is the problem?
It almost feels like it has to think about it then get going.
This doesn't occur if I gently twist the throttle
I don’t understand how everyone’s getting different results?
90hp is insanity! I’m getting close to 80hp and want to know if a PCV will get me more gains?
HUGE gains.
Apparently our bike is the best for de-restricting as the other LAMS bikes don't get anywhere near as much power.
They installed an O2 sensor eliminator and modified the inlet funnels which I'm going back to replace with non-restricted inlet funnels for a cleaner job.
Unfortunately...
So guys, little annoyed that he was out of stock of the snorkels and drilled the restrictions out instead.
Is there anyone downside to this or should I order some from the states?
It’s booked in for next week so I’ll let you know how I go.
Mine is replacing the intake funnels with the larger version so I don’t know why yours machine them?
He didn’t mention anything about a power commander either.
I was told it can be reverse for the same cost ($950 in my case).
Also seems an exhaust is hardly beneficial for this type of bike unless you want to be heard.
No way can I justify $1.5k just for that.
No slip on option available unless you cut the pipe which I have no intention of doing...
Guys, how important is a full exhaust system? It is necessary or just beneficial?
Platinum Motorcycles want my bike for a week so I'm going through Dynobike who will do it on the same day.
