Exactly the point I was trying to make alongwith highlighting the not to apparent complexity to those unfamiliar with E-Clutch intricacies. I also understand the reason such questions arise is because of the initial marketing promise/hype of "retrofitting the E-Clutch" to older Hondas.
Hello All,
Someone in one of the CBR groups that I'm in asked a question about the feasibility of "plonking" the E-Clutch onto pre 2024 650Rs, I poured in my thoughts on that group and sharing here as this may be of interest to some.
Short answer is that its a clear No in the current design of...
Possibly late to the party but here goes!
It is held in place by 8 fasteners. 4 bolts and 4 trim clips. See image below. Make sure that you don't spread the side panels too much while pulling out the assembly else you'd risk loosening the rear center piece.
I’ve never been a frame sliders fan, my 2021 CBR650R does not have them. However, given that the 2024 already has an eClutch protrusion, I caved in (ironically to fill the gap).
The end result looks both aesthetic and functional. The sacrificial sliders project about 2 inches from the fairing...
No, it did not need a tune. I dynoed it and it is maintaining a good A/F ratio.
I had mentioned this back in September when I got the bike and inspected it that there was just 1 O2 sensor on the US version and I used the Akra from earlier models (1 O2 sensor).
Thanks, agreed, the seat cowl should be made standard ;-)
The Puig does make a bit of a difference, I'd like to say by pushing the wind blast up by 2-3 inches. Depending on the riders' height and seating posture, that does make a difference. The cockpit view is also a lot more sporty.
In terms...
Thanks and my pleasure!
I got the transparent Puig Tank Pad on Amazon, search for "Puig 4051W Clear Performance Tank Pad", you should be able to find them elsewhere as well. They usually vary between USD 20-25.
The transparent knee pads (on both sides of the tank) are Honda OEM, your dealer...
Back to my 2024 CBR, I affixed a $6 Honda OEM decal set of the headlight cowl to cover up the blank space on the underseat cowls.
Once you see it, you'll think that those decals were always there.
Ignore the partially fastened footrest bolts, It's work in progress, I'll be removing those...
Well, I didn't really upgrade by choice. I have had a job related re-location to a different continent, so I don't have my trusty and beloved 2021 CBR650R with me at the new place.
My 2021 CBR650R had all the sweet upgrades that I call as "just enough" and if I had it with me here, I don't see...
Hello Folks, the 2024 CBR650R in US comes with just 1 lambda sensor like its predecessors. Looks like it is just Euro5 equivalent compliant and not Euro5+ which requires the second lambda for Cat effectiveness monitoring.
Before I picked up the bike in Sept, I too had the 2 lambda Akra...
So, I bit the bullet way sooner than I thought. I took delivery of the bike on 9/26 and after about 350 miles over the weekend, got to “tweaking” it. And in about 8 days since delivery, version 1.1 is up and running 😉
Burnt midnight oil at home over the week to give it the upgrades it deserves...
Congrats and Safe Riding.
Also, there’s no underseat USB charger. On the bright side, the US bikes have just 1 lambda sensor thereby allowing use of prior version of Akra (S-H6R11-AFT) without the hassle of CEL lighting up.
It's been in "Pre-Shipment Stage" since beginning of the month. I placed a deposit the day (July last week) it was announced by Honda North America, I'm hoping to get it this week or the next but in Sept for sure. I had started a thread in the North America section to discuss this same topic...
An update on this. Test Bikes have reached US and Honda did a camp in Georgia earlier this week with a few youtubers and moto journalists taking the bikes for a spin.
On the dealership front, the bikes are likely to start showing up from mid September. I'll update the thread once I get mine...
