My buzzing stopped around 5k miles and after I removed the PAIR valve entirely. I always suspected it was the pair valve rattling since it’s really just ‘floating’ on its hoses under the ignition and isn’t really secured otherwise. Seems like it’d be easy for it to rattle around.
Man Honda really dropped the ball with these bikes. I thought the water pump oil leak was bad, can’t imagine what you guys are going through dealing with that issue. Can’t believe it’s not just a one off and multiple people are having the same issue with such new bikes. Seems like Honda...
I traded my CBR650R for a Ninja 1000SX. It’s great for long rides, and very powerful, but the way it makes power isn’t all that exhilarating. It’s a little too linear and smooth of a power band. I’m thinking of trading it for a ZX6R next year.
I installed the Akra full system and had a check engine light because my O2 sensor wasn’t plugged in all the way. I unplugged it and plugged it back in and it went away. Otherwise I rode the bike for several thousand miles with the Akra full system and no tune and the bike ran fine.
Make sure you’re checking the oil with the bike level - I doubt it would leak so bad to be bone dry unless you were riding hard like this for 5k miles or more without topping off, but yeah looks to be the same issue. I also had it on my 2022 CBR650R. I ended up trading the bike for a Ninja...
Figured I’d just add my experience. 2022 CBR650R. Noticed the side of the oil pan was wet around 3500 miles. Found this forum thread on the water pump issues, and then noticed there was a small drip at the bottom of the pump as well. No drips on garage floor. I had the dealership look at it and...
Sorry I wasn’t clear. I always ride with it on, but the only time I noticed it activate was during a hard rain when I intentionally ripped the throttle in 1st gear to see what would happen, it basically just cuts throttle when you start slipping the rear. It still let me slide out a little...
Yeah we’ll see where I’m at financially next spring, and how I’m feeling about the 650 at that point. If it doesn’t give me any more issues I might hang on to it as a backup bike. I have the extended warranty anyway.
After 5k miles I’m starting to get the itch for a bit more power myself. I think I’m going to ride out the season and then get a GSX-750R or a Ninja 1000SX next spring. I like the 650 a lot, I just feel like I’m riding it really hard and would be better off with a bike where I don’t feel like...
Yeah I’m going to buy a right side washer to put on the left side, it just seems off to me that the washer sits against the exhaust how it does without being tighter, or more flush against, the rubber washers. I still don’t understand why one side is longer than the other.
The exhaust mount washers are two different lengths on the left / right. On the left side, it seems to me that the exhaust is just loosely suspended due to the length of the washer.
This got me wondering if I had mounted it wrong. In the 2021-2022 service manual they are represented in the...
