It's fairly porky for a Triumph at over 200kg wet so no doubt aimed to be a budget friendly bike but still a fair whack lighter than the CBR650 with a reasonable peak torque advantage no doubt coming in a fair bit lower in the RPM range. Will be interested to see how well tuned the basic...
If you're finding your most typical speed to be sitting somewhere uncomfortably between two gear ratios then you might benefit from a gearing change (front sprocket) to get you more comfortably in the ballpark. 95% of my riding in commuting for work and I don't hit a single road where the speed...
Have you considered a Z900? I bought one to replace my CBR650F daily/commuter and I find it a far better bike in every way. It's so damn smooth and easy to ride but also pulls like a train with a really strong midrange. You'd have no problems launching it any way you see fit.
And the lower fairing the bike is clearly missing has to be bought as an accessory. Bloody nice bike though. My good mate has a 2022 XSR900 which we swap regularly and it's a beautiful machine with a lot of tech, though you sit high on the bike with some strange ergos and it has some very...
Yeah mine never did that. I could open the throttle at any rpm and it would pull smoothly. In that respect it was a very tractable 4cyl and I never found the need to rev it to get it to operate properly. It was pretty much for the city slaying I used it for.
I heard that the shorter full power funnels make a little more top end power than the restricted ones cut open, but I doubt you'd tell the difference. Mine came with modified restricted funnels and I didn't bother changing them.
This bike in restricted form doesn't make much sense at all. It's a rev happy 4 cylinder that wants to be wound out, yet the restrictions lop the top end off. It's designed as a 90hp bike so if you like the look and feel of it and you think you might hang onto it a couple of years then I'd go...
Haha you sound like me. Never happy with just the one bike and always wanting a change. I actually just sold the CBR650F. Was one of my most short lived ownerships, it just didn't do it for me. The Street Triple S I had before it was miles more fun. Same with the MT07, XSR900, and the XSR700 I...
It's a real hassle when you do get a scratch, I'll tell you that. You can diminish blemishes with a bit of wax but go too far and the paint around the area you're working on will start to shine up. So in most cases there's pretty much nothing you can do about it. After owning the matt I probably...
Impressive! Not many people would be in a position to take that risk just for the hell of it, so well done on that. $400 is also cheaper than paying a local tuner and unlock and flash tune the ECU.
I've heard people saying that changing boots helped, which I'm sure it does, but it shouldn't be necessary. Never had a problem with any other bike so wasn't interested in having to carry an extra pair of shoes just for the ride to work. My shifter mod has smoothed things out considerably and I...
Yeah I did all the research I could and was hoping to find something that would just bolt on in the correct position (55mm) but after a fair bit of time scouring eBay and Aliexpress, as well as measuring shift arms on plenty of actual motorbikes, I found nothing suitable. Not saying there isn't...
Easy way to check if it's firing on all cylinders will be to put your hands on the headers when you first start it up. You'll easily be able to tell if one header warms up a lot slower than the others (ie. it's not firing).
I've come up with a fairly simply and easy to do modification that results in significantly smoother gear shifting, ideal for anyone who isn't quite happy with how their shifting behaves, which I've been testing and modifiying over the last few weeks to come up with an optimal solution.
I...
You'd be better of asking on the CBR650F Australia Facebook group, since this group is worldwide. For reference, mine was flashed and tuned (after derestriction) by One Addiction down here in Brisbane.
