Just out of curiosity, I''m not trying to learn how to wheelie personally, but I did try to see if I could get my front tire off the ground, and the inline 4 + the weight of the bike it seemed impossible (TC off)

Anyone manage to get theirs up?

It’ll wheelie, you just gotta want it. Definitly not a liter bike where you flick your wrist but it can and will bring the front wheel up.

Bike can, you can't.

If you don't want to learn... you can use a front wheel stand. Is safe and requires no skill and little practice.

There is a guy who uses them for stunting so definitely can. The slow revving nature at the bottom end makes it harder. So a remap/exhaust etc would help. It does mean it goes fast forward rather than up :)

I have an akra exhaust and PCV, with T/C off it'll power wheelie in 1st gear easily. Clutch up wheelies are def possible, if you want it. I've done a few in 2nd gear and it actually comes up pretty quick.

I never tried before those 2 mods, but those 2 changes also woke the motor up quite a bit

Yep the bike can wheelie, I’m not a wheelie guy myself (I suck at it) but it’s not hard for me to lift the front wheel up. Did by the way some hard pulls begin this week with a friend just for fun trying to out run the 1290 duke gt from a standstill up to 60 miles 😂😂. And from the 6 pulls we did, 4 times the front lifted up.

Interesting responses 😅. What RPM do you need to get to clutch up? I think I was too low.

Forgive me if I’m not precise because this all is muscle memory: I take of around 3000rpm, quick but gentle go with the clutch to the point of engagement (keep it there for a split second just to prevent wheel spin or an engine cut off) than roll hard on the throttle and up you go. Ps disable tc. For full disclosure, the picture that a posted is from you tube just to let you see the cb650r on one wheel 😉

Leave it to the professional racers and stunt riders ,wheelies aren't for public roads !:nailbiting:
That's why I said that I'm personally not trying to wheelie. I was just trying to see if I could get my front tire up off the ground to learn how to control my bike better in different situations. I think being familiar with the feeling of your front tire coming off the ground is a safety skill to learn. 💪 Backstory is it happened accidentally when I was going too fast over a train track and I recognized that I've never handled that situation before

When accidentally getting the front wheel off the ground there are two main parts.
1. Don't panic.
Keep a light grip to the handlebars, keep front aligned with the bike, hold on with your legs and operate the controls smoothly. This is easier said than done and best practice is to go on a dirt bike offroad. You will definitely experience unexpected loss of grip, traction, change in balance and... wheelies in a safer environment at lower speeds.

2. Understand the physics and controls of the bike.
- Do not use the front brake.
- Slowly and gently close the throttle. This makes the rear suspension extend and push the front back down. You can practice this with two wheels on the ground.
- Slowly and gently break with the rear. This will slow the bike down and compress the rear. Balancing the compression will make sure you front wheel will not go back down abruptly (or even keeping it up once you decide to wheelie).
You can practice rear break control at slow speeds in a parking lot. It takes some time to get used to especially since it is different from bike to bike and motorcycle boots remove most of the feel.
- If the the front wheel is much slower than the rear and speed high enough bike might wobble when front touches the ground. Let the bike balance itself and don't force it.
