My DAS (second attempt) part two was set to be on the 26th of March and on the 23rd Our Spurious Leader the Right (wing) (dis)Honourable Boris Dewifflewaffle Johnson announced that because of the covid virus everyone had to stay home and protect the NHS.

So there I am. Stuck in limbo.

My new (to me) CBR650F is sitting (paid for) in the showroom and I'm furloughed.

12 weeks later and I'm still bikeless, still waiting for a new test date with lots of lovely new gear I've not had the chance to put to use.

I've bought a new helmet (Rossi Philip Island replica) a new Astars jacket and trousers, new Astars short boots and a pair of TCX sports boots.

As for the bike I've had crash bungs fitted and Clearcoat applied by the showroom, I've bought the tail tidy, bolts for removal of the pillion pegs, an Oxford chain to lock her up and a cover to keep the weather off when needed. Also got the big black bike paddock stand (had the same thing a few years ago and couldn't fault it) for when I give her a good cleaning/lubing chain.

I'm starting to feel like I'm not going to be able to get out on my bike test for a few weeks yet and may miss the majority of the good weather this year.

Oh, I also got a Haynes manual for little jobs I feel capable of.

How's your lockdown been?

What's the bad weather like for you? Cold, rainy...cold AND rainy??? If it's just a cold(er) day you can still ride! Bundle up and get those handle bar muffs!

Apologies, going to pull rank here. Rossi FTW.

Because your two wrongs make me right :)

Yes, I know before someone says it Jerry also said Rossi. Just let me have the joke OK? :D

This is a subject that requires a long and arduous conversation wherein I prove Doohan to be the actual GOAT using slides and other multimedia content.

Have your joke. It's obviously shite anyhoo. 😏

I feel for you Doohanisthegoat @Doohanisthegoat as my mate is in a similar position re taking his DAS.

From what I've been reading on Twitter, ADIs and motorcycle trainers are up in arms about the lack of information regarding allowing them back to work. While I understand about the risk to ADIs and car examiners, I don't understand why they can't get bike testing back under way? Maintaining social distancing seems pretty straight forward to me for bike training and tests so why don't the DVSA get that up and running again?
