The Akra sleeves definitely look too short even with them in your hand. Mine fit snug exactly how they should have and frankly I did not think twice about it during install. Sorry to hear this, I would be beyond frustrated had this happened to me. Any word on how they will fix it?

Not sure what is gonna happen with this for now. Went south pretty quick as nobody wants to step up. (Akro/Distributor/Dealer) Bike has been down all week as a result. I ended up pulling the rad when my mind would not settle with the fact they put the wrong sleeves in the box. Kept thinking I was crazy or missing something. So with that and the long version PAIR mod prior to installing the pipe.....well, some work there I would rather not undo/repeat.

Anybody know how bad for the stock cat it would be for a few weeks if I left the PAIR mod in place? Thinking I may just throw the stock pipe back on till I find a new pipe.

Alright folks, after reading through the whole thread I've shortlisted my options and now I need opinions! This is what I've ended up with:

IXIL L3X Hyperflow Full System (£556.00 & Free Delivery)

Termignoni GP2R-R Full System (£725.29 & Free Delivery)

Moriwaki Full Exhaust System (£1050.70 & £133.47 Delivery, £1,184.17 total :jawdrop:)

SC Project 4-1-2 Full Exhaust System (£933.87 & £13.47 Delivery, £947.44 total)

Akrapovic Racing Line (Titanium) (£1056.40 & Free Delivery)

As you can see, I'm a big fan of keeping the stock 'undercarriage' look, and so they're all quite similar except the SC one.

Thoughts? I'm in love with the Moriwaki and the Akra ones but they just so happen to be the most expensive

I like the SC or IXIL... I'm also a big fan of the stock 'undercarriage' look, so still debating.

it depends if you want a exhaust homologated or not,Termignoni is ear destrution like austin,to be fair to you,i think nothing sounds better than akrapo without db killer,if you want homologated tbh i think SC ill make you happy, great sound even with cat and db killer, but im probably the guy who know less here xD,lets see what others have to say :)

Sportsbikeshop has a 10% off code (2020TEN) at the moment and I just tried it against the Akrapovic and it brings the price down to £950.76. I wonder if this makes it a bit more appealing?

I love the twin cans of both of those, but they're not so stock-looking. If you make up your mind, let me know which one you went for!

That's great info cheers mate, I love the Akra exhaust sound; I was at Ace Cafe a few weeks ago and there was a guy on a CBR650R with the Akra exhaust and it sounded AMAZING. But it's the price :arghh:

You’ll be fine running the stock pipe for a while.

We’re missing something here.

What does that mean “Went south pretty quick as nobody wants to step up.”?

Are they saying there is no problem? Are they suggesting you did something wrong? I’m confused there would be no actions to take, it may be slow, the world is in effect shut down, but I’d think something would be happening.

Obviously something is wrong and needs to be fixed, and it’s nothing you did in the install, they are just incorrect parts and knowing Akrapovic’s reputation for customer service and quality products I’d think they’d be all over looking at a batch of bad parts from a supplier or whatever happened.
The dealer you bought it from should be the one fighting this, what are they saying? Did you talk to Akra directly? The pictures should be proof enough there is an issue.

Can you shed some light on what is or isn’t happening? This is a very popular product for this bike, dozens have installed it without issue, we are missing something.

It's still unresolved so it could be self defeating for me to elaborate more. Suffice to say, the pictures tell the story and it hasn't been much fun. I remain confidant in a solution though. Just not the form in which it will take.

The best for me would be modifying the stock, but I am waiting for someone else to do it first :)

i love the akrapo sounds, its deep, but with db killer kills much of the deep,so SC is my go go probably ,not so deep but feels like a proper 4 cylinder sound, maybe if i get a chance to ear it in person i'll change my opinion

Keep an eye on EnglishBikerDan @EnglishBikerDan 's YouTube channel. He does a great job of filming fly-bys which is exactly what you want to see when you watch a review video. He has the new SC Project exhaust so it'll be interesting to see what he thinks as he's had Black Widow, the Akrapovic and now the SC Project.

So today I finally installed the Dual CRT.
The box was a bit torn but everything was well packaged and the build quality is amazing, in the box there was a cleaner as well.
Unfortunately the belly pan did not fit and I'm forced to modify it by cutting a small portion, not sure if the pipes are a bit more spaced apart or have a different angle. I really wanted to see the way it looked with it. But it's something that I can live with considering the amazing sound and engine response.
Tomorrow I will probably fix it.

I'm still looking for the best setup to record it and I'm getting there.

I have to say, as soon as I started the engine I could already tell the difference, at idle it's deeper and you can hear the rumble.
I did let it warm up for at least 10 mins and then did a test ride.
The engine is smoother, yesterday I did the PAIR valves and already got better (sound as well), but today I couldn't feel the engine losing torque while in 3rd or 4th gear around 4k giving full throttle, it was not pulling back anymore and then releasing, it was more linear, so I think it evened out the torque in that range.
I think it's much better now.
I'm wondering how is going to be whenever I get and install the Rapidbike EVO add on unit. (maybe air filter as well)

The installation is pretty straight forward, instructions not available, but there was an exploded view of the parts.
The exhaust attaches on 2 points, one it's where the stock exhaust is mounted, the other is with the provided bracket that goes behind the rear set.
Also there is a plate to remove and I think it's a heat cover for the coolant box right above it when the stock exhaust is installed.
Not sure if I'll be removing the dB killers since are welded, the way it sounds is more than enough for me.

After a 40 mins run the exhaust already turned a bit "gold" (the picture below was before the first start), I like it bc it blends with the other parts of the bike.

I really love the look and the way it sounds.
The only thing that I do not like, it's that it happened a few times to touch with the heel the pipe behind the rear set forcing me to tip toe on the right side. Probably I just need to readjust and get used to it.
I'll try a few flybys in the next days and hopefully able to make it sounds decent.

Great choice on the SC! Not sure if you saw my post but I also installed my exhaust a few days ago. There is no need to cut the OEM belly pan. I used 2 metal washers on the 2 right side bolts giving me the clearance necessary for the pipes to fit under it!

mako @mako Cat will still be working as designed, just not as efficiently at closed throttle situations where there are reduced O2 levels coming through the exhaust. It won’t hurt it though.

My kit is supposed to arrive today, I’ll take some pics of the spacers in it for reference, as I know mine is designed for 14-18 models.

Yes we made a great choice and I did see your post
My belly pan is from Ermax accessories and it’s completely different (see the pic) from the OEM
The stock exhaust is already really close to the pan, with the SC I can’t even get It close to the brackets so I have to cut away like at least 20mm (maybe more) of plastic to have it fitted.
Today I’ll give another try to find a way around it, but I’m afraid is the only way.
Thanks anyway
