Hi people, I want to fit a chain oiler but don't want to spoil the looks of the bike, had a tutoro on a previous bike, brilliant but ugly reservoir sticking out on my cb650r is a no non lol. Any suggestions or pics on what you've done or got would be much appreciated.

There are many debates on forums as to whether oilers are worth the hassle, price, and how they look. A good chainlube can last quite a while before it needs re-applying. Having said all that the latest x system from Scottoiler looks ok, pricey though.

Thanks for the reply, yup oilers are certainly a marmite subject, but personally a bit of a necessity for me, my bike lives outside all year round, and if it rains for 4-5 days I cover it up and hide indoors and wait for a dry day to lube/adjust it, 250 miles a week so an oiler would to a certain extent save hassle and extend the chains life.Need Honda to sell a middleweight bike with a shaft drive or belt drive, I think they would get a lot of takers, low maintenance is king lol.

I bought one of those "off brand" Nemo's (which I swear is the exact same as an actual Nemo, but cheaper!) and it's worked good so far. Mounted on the bars.

They come in different colors and I think it looks like just another bad-ass reservoir!!! :p

You can always build one yourself. YouTube "motorcycle chain oilers" and you'll find a ton of riders that have made one for cheap. I had one on my V-strom - $1 mini liquid bottle from the WalMart travel-size soaps and toothpaste etc section (or better yet, Hobby Lobby sells an airbrush paint bottle that has a breather hole already cut into the top! $5), Home Depot/Auto Store fuel lines and zip ties. If you make your own you can hide the "reservoir" (bottle) under the seat. A little ingenuity and you can wire the fuel line straight to the chain/sprocket.

Overall cost...less than $10.00!

Only problem with shaft drives is the weight they add to the bike. Now belt drive, that would potentially be better and they seem to be the favoured drive method used on electric bikes.

cheers guys, the scottoiler seems the kiddy at the moment, Brammers pipework is well hidden looks cool, just hope the sticky pads are tough enough,if you can eliminate cable ties then i think the lines of the bike are not affected. Ok just heated grips and tail tidy to add to the list, safe riding chaps.

If you clean the swingarm properly with IPA, the pads stick fine. I did have to replace one after 3 years that came loose.

You need to zoom in to find the pipes on my pic. Just ask if you need advice.

There's also heated grips in that picture 👍

So far my Scottoiler V system is working great although there is a bit of leakage of oil around the face of the reservoir, due I think to it being fairly near horizontal located under the seat. With normal vibration and movement when riding the bike I think it maybe comes out around the rubber plug in the filler hole , but stays in the reservoir cage.
