Good to know. Thanks for the input, even if anecdotal. I wasn't even aware that a limiter could operate in that fashion. I think it makes some sense though, sort of like hitting the brakes or pulling the clutch before an impact as opposed to just gassing all the way into it. Less velocity before...
Soft rev limiter? Meaning the bike isn't fully limiting but starting to as it approaches the actual rev limit? Or something else?
I've been following this guy on Reddit as well and noticed my bike making a similar noise. It's definitely at the top end of the RPM band, though, I haven't had a...
Corbin may not be everyone's cup of tea, but after riding around the state on an old custom Goldwing with a gunfighter saddle, I've had a spot in my heart (and butt) for Corbin seats ever since. After three years of waiting, they've finally released a model and I had to get my hands on one right...
I too ended up buying those same parts, and the fitment was pretty good, with the exception of needing to drill out the holes for the screws. There were holes in the right places, but were just slightly too small to allow the collar to fit. I've found that to be pretty common when buying these...
This is driving me nuts. My own bike doesn't have a sensor there. I can't find evidence of a sensor being there on any of the parts fiches I know of. Obviously, as pictured, there is one there on OPs bike.
Is it regional? Some sort of regional compliance or something?
You know, you might be right. There are rivets, but I've assumed that was to hold the carbon fiber liner to the outside of the can. The part around the tip and the ring that mates with the rest of the exhaust are both welded, so that's where I was thinking that the whole thing is welded shut...
Well guys, it happened. The joy of having children and the joy of having motorcycles has finally made itself known.
My son loves my motorcycles. He's about 2, and can't go with out saying "um um!" (think revving sound) when he sees a motorcycle. He also loves water and the garden hose. Turns...
Are you the original owner of the bike? From what I can tell, and as others have also mentioned, that part is not painted from the factory. Is it possible a previous owner painted it for some reason? Or could something have been sprayed nearby that caused the plastic to fog?
One thing that I don't think many people have mentioned (perhaps I'm wrong), is that the device may extend the life of your shift seals. My other bike is a '98 Goldwing and its suffering from some really sloppy shifts. I was looking into a shift support for that as the shifter arm seems to have...
Sucks about the damage, hopefully you can find what you need to fix it. Part number for the crankcase cover is 11330-MKY-T10, and the small cap is 11332-MGZ-J00. Good luck!
Thought I'd try out a headlight guard I saw on Amazon. I like the look of it, and it's one of the only ones I've found that is actually fitted to the bike as opposed to a flat wire generic grille or something that requires permanent modification to the headlight. Fitment isn't great but once...
