Woodcraft Clip-ons 3"

Is it the 1” or the 7/8” bar? Was the swap to clip one easy? Tell us more !

7/8"
Swap to clipon wasn't too hard.

The hardest bit was the bar clipons themselves (1) drilling holes in the bars to accept the pins in the handlebar controls (levers and switches) and (2) finding a way to insert the bar internal weights and end weights into the clipon bars so they won't fall out.

For drilling the holes, wrapping a piece of paper around the stock handle bar and 'mapping' out the hole locations helped. The holes do need to be somewhat precise so the controls are lined up correctly.

For the weights, note that the internal weights are EXACTLY the inner diameter of the stock handle bar so they take some persuasion to install with the security clips.

You'll need to remove the headlight to give you room to work - and reinstall the headlight so the beam points at the correct angle to the road.

You'll need to find a way to mount your turn indicators to the forks as the rubber indicator mount boots are a larger diameter than the forks once you install the clipons. (I used double sided outdoor foam tape).

You'll need to remove a small wire hanger bracket for the cables underneath the speedo display for clearance.

Align the clipons precisely so they're at an even angle on both sides. There's actually very little angle to work with if you have the clipons at the top of the forks like I did - but you need them at the top to give you clearance against the tank.

Torque down the clipons gingerly so as not to crush the of the fork tubes.

That is amazing. Thank you so much for the write up. Really appreciate it.

Just one question: are these the stock bar end and internal weights you’re talking about? Unfortunately the previous owner of my bike tossed them out. Just wondering if you know of good aftermarket weights is all

Correct, stock bar end and internal weights. Woodcraft sell bar end weights for their clipons.

I just stuck with the stock ones to maintain the 'stock' look as much as possible.

Quick question. I'm interested in getting these for my 2019. I see the clamp size was 48mm. When I looked up the fork diameter online it said our Showa was 41mm. Anyone know why the difference?
