Hey all.

While we wait for the "flag" add-on to be updated, I've added a member map.
You can access it from Members > Member Map (direct link here).

Locations are set automatically based on IP.
Updates are made at intervals via a site task, so recent folks may not appear immediately. Just be patient :)

I think that’s because it can only grab locations from a valid city/state in your location tab. If you don’t have anything listed, or if it’s a complex location, my guess is it won’t grab it.

It will also will grab people as they login (doesn't look back to past visits).

After that, there is a set "job" the site will run at intervals throughout the day to push them onto the map itself.

Neat feature. Have set mine more precisely.

Mind you anyone wanting to steal a CBR650 now knows where to come:cool:

Still only 4 people though. Does it retain location when you sign out? I can only see BamaCBR, Brammers, baugstine and myself. So it looks like it only shows the people who are logged in

It's alright answered my own question and it does retain your location when you log out and log back in.

Downsides are that anyone can update anyone else's location as well as their own. Brammers @Brammers you might want to check yours - I did move it and think I've put it back in the right place. :angelic: Do you enjoy gliding?

Also the locations are available to guests as well as members (although you cannot change a location if you're not logged in) so for security not so hot - just saying

I actually only installed this as a stop-gap until the "flags" addon was updated & available.
There was a typo in the addon options. I thought i enabled showing "all" users, instead of only those "currently" active. It's fixed now, and should display everyone. It's a bit crowded now :p

Here's all the info given with the mod:

Uses
Show your users' locations can be shown on an interactive Google map after being geolocated from their IP addresses.
Also supports the ability to show all users or only those that are currently logged in.
Locations are calculated in batches to ensure smooth performance, or updated by each person using drag & drop.
Markers feature a popup with a mini profile including avatar.

Complete Feature List
  • Choose whether to show all users or only those logged in, and the default map type
  • Choose the number of users to process per scheduled task run
  • Usergroup setting to set if they can access or should be excluded
