I've tighten the chain and almost immediately a "clack" sound appear at the rear wheel. I thought I've too tighten the chain so I've ask a friend to check on it. After we lift the rear wheel he told me my bearing are dead beceause the wheel have lateral moves even the rear axle correctly tighten.

I've checked the service manual but since I've never done that I'm not sure if I do the work myself. How hard it is ?

Since my SO and I have a track day next week-end I'll drop the bike to the shop this afternoon. I'll do it myself next time.

I did nothing on my CBR650F today. It's at the dealer getting fixed. I did do a 320km tour ride on this CBF600 loaner bike. I might write a comparison review soon.

That looks great! I just bought a set of the Quantum mirrors from Rizoma and passed on the bronze because I was worried the match wouldn't be close enough. But after seeing yours, I may have to do a swap now.
Thanks! Yeah the Rizoma grips and mirrors match the engine casing perfectly. It's almost like they matched their "sandstone" color (or whatever they call it) to the cb650r accents

Today I took my 2019 CBR650R on track! My first ever and it was great fun. Didn’t think to take a better photo at the time, but here’s one I snapped near the end after clocking up 93 track miles. Circuit was Knockhill in Scotland.

Also here’s one of the OEM tyres, which have covered 6k miles and rode in all conditions - they get such a bad rap, but even riding hard today and using up the whole tyre I never felt it lacking grip for this bike. Regardless, I have a pair of M9 RR ready to replace these 😁; I’m probably good enough now to notice the difference, so will report back!

If this new bug takes hold, I can see a track bike in my future..! Maybe a 600RR that I keep thinking about. Anyone got a dedicated track bike or tuned/made changes to their CBR to improve performance?

EDIT: added some pro photos, haven’t bought yet so still have photographer’s watermark.

No Labor Day is complete without some manual labor. Since I wasn't happy with the finish of the Mivv exhaust, I polished all the pipes with a good metal polish hoping to get closer to the factory pipes. Now I just need do some rides to burn that patina back into 'em. I also modified the under cowl to properly fit around my exhaust, and gave her a good cleaning.

I went to my local gas station to fill/check my tire pressures - I use the air machine there all the time. One of those electronic ones where you set the pressure and let it do its thing.

This time, I set the pressure on the machine and held the air hose on as normal - the air turns on and off as is calibrates to the desired pressure.

About 30s later I look down and it nearly completely deflated my rear tire. Machine was broken but sounded like it was working so I didn't notice anything.

Called AAA roadside assistance, but alas they do not cover motorcycles.

So I walked my bike 2.5 miles home in 95 degree weather (just enough air left to not roll on the rim). Holy moly. 🥵🤬

What an awful way to get in your daily steps! Hopefully they tagged out the machine to alert others of the issue!

Gas station was closed but I threw a piece of electrical tape over the payment machine... Really was my fault for not paying attention 😂

I swapped out the stock controls for a set of Puig shorty levers. Unfortunately I had to get an unmatched set but at least I'll get to try two different versions and replace one if I don't like it. Stock levels on these things are pretty low just about anywhere I looked so I opted to get the 2.0 lever for the brake, and a 3.0 lever for the clutch. My initial thoughts are that I like the 2.0 better, the edges feel smoother in my hand but with a glove it may not matter. We'll see after some riding today.

Changed the fork oil and added fork gaiters. The old oil was knackered and the forks just couldn't cope with bumps and they were really harsh. The new oil has transformed it. Happy days!

Quick update.

Still loving it. It's not trying to be anything other than fun. Love the engine's torque. Love the way it likes to rev. Love the Honda reliability.

I thoroughly recommend it.
