Nice, thank you. The office yesterday maybe was deafThanks my friend, it sounds great in person! No actual dB level restrictions that I have seen, its more of a municipal law than provincial. Please see below:
Noise, smoke, bells and horns
Muffler
75.(1) Every motor vehicle or motor assisted bicycle shall be equipped with a muffler in good working order and in constant operation to prevent excessive or unusual noise and excessive smoke, and no person shall use a muffler cut-out, straight exhaust, gutted muffler, hollywood muffler, by-pass or similar device upon a motor vehicle or motor assisted bicycle. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 75 (1)

The Akra Race should suffice to legal requirements in Ontario. I passed a police office yesterday and he did not give me any trouble.

Really depends on where you live and how close to snowmobile trails you are. Unless you're living in the country where you've got room to store and run the snowmobiles, it's tough and expensive to store them in the city and the trailer you would need to get them to any sort of trails that are usually 1-2 hours away in most cases (in my province anyway). A vehicle with towing capacity required as well.
It's fun with great scenery, but not as fun or convenient as the bike in my opinion.
There are some yes that enjoy snowmobiles but like @h0ck3y said it's quite an expensive hobby if you live in the city. I'm in Montreal and the closest trails are about a 1 hour drive out.
In Vancouver we barely even get snow. Just extra rain on top of the non stop rain we already get.
