CBR650F Got rear ended! Cops were standing around and saw it!

Was riding slow in traffic, a driver rear ended me at 10 Km/h, I ended up flying off, the bike got pushed forward 6 feet,bike bounced off the car in front of me, and then I landed on my bike and cut my leg.

I'm ok, and kept calm.

It was THE BEST REAR END ACCIDENT, There were two cops on the side walk minding their own business, maybe eating donuts.

My rear fender and license plate got broken, cosmetic damage, my extra front running lights and camera got bend.

Told, my cat, but he doesn't care.

Extra Led Driving Lights. I have on both Sides. Sometimes I ride in pitch black when I go outside the city. It's like a 2nd head light.
The ones in my picture got bend down from the accident.

Not Riding, have to deal with insurance and collision. Right handle bar is bend.

Bikes can be repaired or replaced, people not as much. Glad you made it through realitivly fine!!!!

As most have said,sorry to hear.When you first get into a accident one says it's not too bad,but when
it is striped down their are many things wrong. Good insurance is king! Did they say when you will be back
on the road again?In thailand alot of pets ride with their owners as they love the wind in their face.Good luck

I can’t believe there is so little damage to your bike. Insurance should take care of it and life will go on!

I am really glad you suffered no serious injuries. Motorcycles have no defense against being rear ended!

Went t0 the bike dealer last week to sign the insurance cheque to fix my bike.

It's $4500, I paid $5000 for my bike used!

They said fork was bend, and other B.S. The bike fell over while I was going maybe 10 km/h?? I fix people's bike for fun, and I already inspected and rode the bike before I took it to the dealer.

What I think is going on, if the motorcycle cycle dealer said the cost was $5000, the insurance company would have wrote it off.

Personally I think it's $500.00-$1000 worth of cosmetic damage and misc parts from ali express.

You are right about how the insurance works. If the cost to repair is over about 80% of the blue book price most insurance companies will write it off and sell the carcass for scrap.

I had a mishap with my 2014 Cbr650f that not only caused extensive cosmetic damage, it also bent the tail section of the frame. The frame could not be straightened so it had to be replaced.

I worked with my dealer to carefully tune the estimate to repair the bike without exceeding the threshold and we got it approved by my insurance company.

I remember this process took weeks and I was really worried the bike would be written off.

I did not want it to be totaled because it took the hit and I was not injured at all. Even though it was heavily damged it started up and I was able to ride it to the dealership. This event was the moment when my bike transcended being an inanimate object and it become like a friend to me.

I'd suddenly develop a bad back and sue the driver for loss of work. Have 6 months off with a nice rest at home.

Just an update, in the end I almost didn't pay for my CBR650F.

Thanks to getting rear ended, I ending keep my old parts and covering my bikes with ugly stickers to hide the scratches. Makes it harder to steal, and I think a thief would just barf trying to strip and sell it.

I took the brand new replacement parts such as luggage, cameras, helmet, frame sliders, fairings, bar ends, and sold it on Kijiji.

Getting rear ended is great!!!!

I told the cats again, and I think they said, "Ok a**hole, buy us the expensive wet food!" as they ripped apart my new jacket with their claws
